Indeed, but omicron was first reported to the WHO on Nov. 24.

Think back to the beginning of the pandemic. The first recorded cases in the UK were on 29th January 2020. The surge proper began from 4th March and the first Covid-19 death was recorded at that time. So, there's about a five-week lag between the first appearance of a variant and its effects being identifiable. So, yes, probably "a bit conspiracy theorist". ;)

Must admit I'm a bit confused by this.

You say you "would not usually consider dividend capture strategies," but the rest of your query seems to suggest you won't be getting a dividend anyway. Just to clarify, this is what I'm hearing:

1. You want to sell after the declaration date but before the ex-div date of stocks held in your BED account;
2. Proceeds of the sale are then transferred to your regular non- or minimal-interest-paying bank account;
3. The proceeds are then transferred to your Stocks & Shares ISA account;
4. You then buy back the stock you sold into your S&S ISA account at the post-ex-div price.

I don't quite understand why you want to miss out on the dividend, especially as dividends are taxed separately. Sincere apologies if I'm being thick and missing something obvious.

I'm not so sure. Simply Wall St, having previously expected BBB to break even this year, yesterday forecast a profit of £12.3m but not until 2022, which will require annual earnings growth of 63% to hit schedule.

I'm also concerned by the 7.6% price fall in the last couple of hours and the selling of recent days, which is 5x greater than buys.

That's a big drop in a couple of hours. A lot of selling recently - 5x more sells than buys.

And who on Earth keeps buying and selling just 2 shares?!
