A Lytx say - this is a simplified version.
The video here is quite telling. only 1:23
No camera on the driver's eyes.
No real monitoring of Driver State Just kicks in when something out of the ordinary happens.
Tries to detect drowsiness without monitoring the driver.
It funny seeing comments overnight comparing See to SEYE and someone suggesting SEYE are comparable or ahead.
When you have the Vision at the commencement of a project to establish data monitoring (1.6b km of data) and then a fully staffed and professionally equipped monitoring and feedback centre (recurring revenue & data analytics). Then to invest heavily into a Chip that can be updated over the Air and is also field programmable.
SEYE didn't have the vision or technical expertise to execute these aspects.
I could go on, but technically and commercially SEE are far far better equipped to service and monetise their addressable markets.
Bugger all.
Not selling.
Happy to hold.
Bring on the next phase.
They have limits to consider, in terms of % shares of a small company and they also need to have a balanced portfolio. They aren't going anywhere at least, but I doubt they can add too much. Perhaps a New II adding would be more helpful.
A rebalance of portfolio following the rise would have been a sensible thing to do....if only I had done the same.
Miton and L&G - well done
Honestly just a bit of fun!!
So the price gets walked down sub 6p on low volumes during a rocky period in the markets generally.
Then SEE issue a series of good news DWs ++ other deals and the price jumps up, but
PIs edgy and nervous sell up their stock on the way up allowing new IIs to come in at better than expected prices.
The SP continues to go up up and away.
As I said - just a bit of fun.
Morning All - I wrote to Sophie to see what/if I would get any reply, about a month ago.
So I thought I'd post here to see what you lot make of it.

I am interested in understanding if SM see SmartDrive as a competitor or a potential client.
Their technology as it relates to DMS seems crude, but I am not certain if it is enough for the technical requirements of the future.
https://www.ttnews.com/articles/smartdrive-adds-facial-plane-analysis-driver-monitoring-system
The above article refers to SM tech, but isn’t specific.
As a telematics provider however they seems very good and are active with NTSB and have plenty of high profile clients. Have SM approached them to discuss partnering?
I can’t see that they are a client yet, but then that may not be in the public domain.
No rush, I am sure you are very busy.
All the best
There has been no generic OEM DW announcement for Japan. So I don't see how this can be Fovio.
Subaru have been working on this for quite some time, first doing a demo in March 2018.
Not a peep from SM.
I don't believe any NDA could conflict with a generic not specific OEM DW announcement.
So on that basis I suggest it is not SM.
Watch the Video. The predictive nature of the smart cap is useful, better 'perhaps' than the detection algorithms SEE have for detecting Micro Sleeps. But if you don't know where the driver is looking....or even if the eyes are open...I am not sure on its own it is a sensible solution.
Nick Di Fiore lists Visteon as a previous company:
---
Further to Mike McAuliffe’s appointment as CEO, Seeing Machines is also pleased to announce the promotion
of Nick DiFiore as General Manager, Automotive from his previous role as VP Sales and Marketing. Nick was
instrumental in building the Automotive business at Xilinx to a $150m business and prior to that, held senior
engineering management roles at Ford and Visteon. Other recent key additions to the Automotive
management team include Kevin Tanaka as Senior Director of Marketing who was previously Director of
Marketing for Xilinx Automotive and Daniel Edmonds as VP of Engineering from his previous role as R&D GM at
Continental Australia.
Well they seem to have good traction in US market. I wonder if SEE have reached out to them as a potential partner?

Ryder use SmartDrive. And Randy Tomlinson is clearly well placed with NTSB to push their product forward. So some good competition for SEE there.

For me it is better the devil I know.
There are plenty of dishonest idiots out there.
While is it disrespectful to compare Ken to an idiot, I believe he is an honest idiot.
(I don't think Ken is an idiot, but if I did, then this analogy works well)
Point 9 - you forgot point number 9.....
Before joining Seeing Machines in late 2016, Nick Difiore was Senior Director of Automotive at Xilinx, a programmable chip company. He helped build Xilinx
Probably because the cost in terms of life and materials of an incident are so great.
Secondly our signalling systems are pretty bad as a result of an under investment in infrastructure.
I am no expert on rail but these would be my top 2.
Plus - cows on the line, leaves on the line, no guard on the train, train systems monitoring, emergency point of contact, train catches fire.
When you have companies with annual turnover moving by a few % pts and still getting their forecasts wrong it is no wonder SEE with near doubling and in the auto sector five fold increase in revenue that the forecast might be a bit tricky. Having worked in business of forecasting I can tell you that these guys are doing a great job.
I think the RNS could have been better at reminding the market that the shortfall was displaced to the next financial period as a result of G2 delays rather than lost opportunities.
Happy enough with that.
I expect it is very difficult to forecast accurately when a company is undergoing such rapid growth.
Steady as she goes.
I like the reference to the ongoing recurring revenue model. There is huge value in there. Automotive gets a lot of attention, but it is in the near term very low margin as the technical / research & development costs are eye watering, probably.
Will this contract be of a higher margin than other contracts?
(I am new to following PFC and am only beginning in understanding the various aspects of the business model)
Someone has to volunteer to keep an eye on Alex8 though. Should we set up a rota so as not to put the burden on one person? It'll be our way of supporting Alex8 through this difficult time.
