Afritin was spun off before I invested in BMN but I thought it was a shame they did that considering the company vision for renewable energy.

Tin is already in demand for energy storage, being used in electrodes for lithium-ion batteries. Demand for Tin should skyrocket when used in VRFB electrodes. Afritin would have been good fit with Bushveld Energy under BMN.

Cindercone, I think the issue other posters may have is with your tone. It comes across as accusatory and you say they have a hidden agenda. In my experience, they are just sharing theories and insights which a lot of us find interesting. It doesn't effect the way I invest and I don't think that is their intention to influence.

Headancer, I'm no expert on world affairs and don't have a crystal ball but here's my penny's worth on the questions you raised :)

What could change things ? Bushveld Energy could be spun off. I hope that doesn't happen, we're in an enviable position and stronger together. Fortune and Mikhail all the way!

FM leaving ? Can't see that happening. BMN is his baby, he's nurtured it and his vision for the company and benefits to SA are just on the cusp of being realised.

Cyril being disposed? He's making strides in tackling corruption and attracting investment/growth opportunities for SA. The elections may take place as early as May next year, so we won't have long to find out.

A takeover? A risk but imagine Fortune and shareholders would fight this.

A new product to replace vanadium? Hmmm.....maybe if it originates from the planet Krypton but Vanadium has its own superpowers. I think we'll be ok :)

Ophidian, I second what Paludina said. The wave theory hurts my brain but I take in the gist of it and enjoy hearing what both you and Endion have to say on this.

It's good to see how energy storage batteries are already starting to improve people's lives. I'm looking forward to seeing how VRFBs will do the same on a much larger scale.

In a recent presentation Bushveld Energy have said their focus is on containerised VRFB technology in utility scale applications, as per the current project with Eskom.

BE also state that "VRFB is an excellent fit for daily, multi-hour, deep cycle storage (e.g. with solar PV), grid support (e.g. peak shaving, system balancing) and off-grid installations (e.g. mines, farms, islands)".

Does that mean that in the future VRFBs could also be used in those microgrids we saw in the video?They are using lithium technology at the moment.

Roscon, also the good thing about dividends earned in an ISA is that if you don't choose to take the cash out, it's a great way to increase your tax free investment.

I got a dividend paid to my ISA on 30th October and bought more BMN at 30.36p :)

RNS states investor is Golden Summit International Ltd (British Virgin Islands).

Daisan found link to Thomas Chan Managing Director of Golden Summit Capital (based in Singapore).

In June 2014 Golden Summit International invested in Vallianz Holdings. I can't link to article but it stated "Golden Summit International is a family office incorporated in British Virgin Islands in July 2009. It handles a number of family assets in Asia. The ultimate beneficial owner is Thomas Chan Ho Lam. Chan is a full-time private investor".
