RE: BESS Project28 Sep 2019 17:40
When reference to Bushveld Energy (eXcess Africa) was mentioned in Zimbabwe solar plant news articles back in May, it was confirmed as incorrect.
I remembered that @pb940 emailed Mikhail at the time, and this is @pb940's post on 13th May 19.
'Sorry guys, but just so this doesn't get out of hand I requested clarification from Mikhail Nikomarov and he responded very quickly and agreed that I let you know.
The following is his first email and then in response to my request to inform the bb.
"This is not correct. We have had discussions with this company (as we have with hundreds of others), but there is no agreement or commitment. They made some sort of external communication without our approval or knowledge. We found out about it on Friday and notified them immediately (they apologised and promised to retract).
Unfortunately, this happens from time in developing markets. You and other investors should be assured that if something material is confirmed, it will be communicated by Bushveld through appropriate channels. Similarly, if Bushveld communicates something, it is an actual deal / project that is material to the implementation of our strategy and not just “news for the sake of news.”
In response to posting his response.

I think that is fine – I definitely do not want people making decisions on false information. I love that Bushveld’s investors are so engaged and looking around for clues. Just bear in mind that if we have not communicated it, not only is it not a done deal but it could be completely “fake news” – to use the American term.
As I noted, I am trying to see what else we can do in this case.'
Thanks again to @pb940.
