Thanks for the reply reteps. Interesting to hear about IP addresses being leased, I didn't know that. Alfa said trolls can get round IP address identification by using IP proxies too. So, I have to agree that the human eye is the way to go. That and using our collective cognitive skills to counter and filter.
Best wishes for your upcoming treatment too. Take good care of yourself.
Congrats Sanchez, thoroughly deserved.
I'm not psychic, but I was only thinking this morning that I was surprised you weren't on top recommended.
And Bushies, if you're awake, don't forget to check out the meteor showers tonight. That's not a premonition, it was on the news :)
With regard to CGT on the sale of shares, see https://www.gov.uk/tax-sell-shares
I must admit the pension tax rules make my head spin. By the time I'm 55yrs, they'll have probably changed again. Important to consult a pension advisor when the time comes methinks. As for the state pension, if they keep moving the goal posts, I may have shuffled off this mortal coil before I'm eligible.
Thanks Alfa, proxy IP addresses explain why the same trolls pop up in different guises. I think Admin have their work cut out some days and do a good job. Some trolls are patient, start off nice, then their true colours show. I logged off early yesterday and missed the offensive posts, we don't need that here.
Being new to chat forums, I misjudged a couple of genuine posters in November as being trolls. They joined around the same time the reincarnated cycling troll was peddling and I thought they were they were one and the same (my bad and unfiltered). I don't engage with suspected trolls now other than to counter baseless info, report offensive posts and then filter them. I can then get back to enjoying the best and most well researched share BB.
Thanks again to all genuine posters. GLA :)
Souplesse must have been removed in the last hour. I've been catching up with posts this morning and they were there earlier, now gone.
Vauch, I think I read somewhere that Admin routinely remove posters with more than one username using the same IP address. As you said, it would be good if Admin could stop trolls from creating another using an IP address known to be linked with a troll.
I'm not a techie but maybe someone like @reteps would know if that's possible?
BasilBush, I'm with you on the trading front. I'd be hopeless, I don't have the temperament for it. I gained a few hundred shares in the past (before BMN) selling from my share dealing account to buy in my ISA. I was just lucky I timed it right on the day, I literally couldn't press the buttons quick enough to get it done. I thought it would go the other way.
I much prefer to buy and hold, hoping for a good entry point. I'm happy my BMN share price average is under 29p.
Thanks Zeusfurla, having not seen the comments before they were deleted, I wondered if The Guardian may have seen the posts as ramping. If you're not a BMN investor familiar with the company's fundamentals, I suppose our positivity could be seen that way or as a commercial post. Maybe a few readers will have caught the comments and will do their own research.
Sanchez599, just looked at the comments section in the Guardian article you posted. Were you BeastfromtheBushveld? If so, your comment and any replies have been deleted.
"This comment was removed by a moderator because it didn't abide by our community standards. Replies may also be deleted."
Couldn't see any other comments on BMN there. Think I may have been a magician in another life, every time I touch a post or comment lately it disappears!
On the plus side, the positive votes in the Daily Mail article are in the hundreds now.
YTSS, I think the ANC will win by a small margin but Ramaphosa will have to continue to show he's tough on corruption. He's got an uphill battle sorting the mess Zuma left but he's doing it, albeit a bit slower than some would like. He is also encouraging global investors back to SA. This recent SA news article (look past the title) has quite a balanced view on how they see the elections going. https://www.iol.co.za/news/opinion/will-south-africa-get-its-own-bolsonaro-after-the-2019-election-17810432
Extract - 'One option is that, following an election victory, Ramaphosa will dispense with the Zuma hacks who continue to populate his cabinet and appoint an honest and capable team to lead the country, tackle corruption and put the economy back on track. It’s a scenario which the overwhelming mass of the population will support, and if he were to meet anything resembling a success, the ANC will reap the benefit.'
Roscon,
Just noticed your post has been restored (see thread). Looks like LSE noticed it was removed in error.
Please keep posting, I can't find the Bushveld Minerals Chat on Twitter and will miss you.
Besides, we ladies are a little outnumbered on here :)
Fantastic article RK, thanks so much. What a wonderful summation of an incredible year, with greater things to come.
As I'm about to pour the bubbly to bring in 2019, I'm thinking of my family, friends, fellow bushies and their loved ones battling health issues. I'll be keeping you all in my prayers.
Wishing everyone a happy, healthy, prosperous new year!
Peace and love to all
Serenus
Clark, I just replied to your 'Admin' post and got an error message. That thread has been deleted.
My reply was that the insensitive post aimed at Knuttie yesterday has thankfully been removed. I'm sure it was reported by many of us and was moved to the top of admin's queue. VRFB posted similar insensitive comments to Knuttie during your undeserved suspension. I reported, then filtered him/her. I'm not sure what criteria supports a permanent ban but someone recently said VRFB has been removed.
Also, Roscon's 'Hopes for 2019' post has been removed, which is baffling to say the least.
Regarding UET, their expertise and shared vision with Bushveld Energy for Africa. I couldn't be happier we are working with them. The Eskom project could be the start of very big things to come.
Commenting on this project, John DeBoever, VP of Eastern Sales of UET, noted:
"Raised in the Congo in the 1960's by Belgian parents, I and therefore UET understand the importance of providing reliable, sustainable, and cost-effective grid-tied and off-grid energy systems to the African continent. UET as a global company with eight deployments so far in North America and Europe will now deliver its field-proven energy storage systems to South Africa. Eskom is by far the largest provider of electricity in Africa, and this first project with Bushveld Energy's critical support will showcase locally the performance advantages of UET's US technology, using our advanced vanadium electrolyte, especially in operational flexibility, long-life, safety and economic value. Across Africa, advanced VRFB technology presents an opportunity to create a more efficient power system, optimising both renewable and base-load generation, reducing the costs of transmission and distribution system upgrades and enabling off-grid users to reduce reliance on costly and polluting thermal generators. South Africa in particular stands to gain from advanced VRFB technology as a base for new and existing local industries such as vanadium mining, electrolyte production and advanced VRFB installation and maintenance. We look forward in continuing our partnership with Bushveld Energy in deploying energy storage systems across the African continent."

As a BMN investor, knowing VRFB technology will have a positive impact on new and existing local industries such as 'vanadium mining, electrolyte production and advanced VRFB installation and maintenance' is one thing. The socio-economic advantages a reliable electricity supply will bring to many makes it even more rewarding.
