........I would expect the SP to drop by the full amount (i.e. 105ish). I hold a long position at just about break even...(ok £50 down inc fees)..I opened it almost a fortnight ago expecting (hoping) the price would raise into the div. My decision would have been whether to get out before ex-d or hold and hope price recovered. However, looks like I was too late and those that wanted in bought in not long after the announcement (summat I missed - timing!). I may close the position before close of play today even if down......not sure how long this would take to recover after the drop.

.........awesome rise, just after I put this on my watchlist......unfortunately its still there and not in my pf.(drat).......but prob to much too soon and sure opportunity will return......

....thanks for that info and will look out for any announcements next week. The fundamentals seem to me rocksteady with healthy plus points in the offfing and seemingly more on the horizon; which makes Fridays drop so frustrating. I am reluctant to move my stop, which i considered just below support (or near any realistic danger) but may consider this despite it being a trading no no......The Greek carry on will play its part which could be a great boost or, as we know, a total nightmare! Cheers.....

....is disconcerting and I ain't sure why. I have a stop loss set at circa 474 (in at approx 498) and unless Greece votes pro-bailout, I fear it may be triggered. The soc gen 'upgrade' dint help but wld not expect this drop because of it. Any ideas out there?

.....oh aye, caution when this close to xd date.....d have to be right entry with the usual pullback......depends how long to sp to recover, need a crystal ball for that. Am in VOD and sp over xd price a week later.....ordinary div tho and in general VOD a boring (safe) share....SHFT - I'd be delighted Wi a return to 80s whether low, mid or high. Greek caper crucial to kick start SHFT short term imo.......finally, the poles played well.....what a goal.......

....are prob right and SHFT will bounce-back......but when, and as has been pointed out, a lot of 'news' lurking around the corner......I am confident mid to long term and still think good entry price here......

.....Hoping for a good season under DJ......couple of additions, Antonio in particular, would help. In RIO but only on a SB. Will keep an eye on this. In SHFT which was doing ok but unfortunate incident there this week. Also CLF and ORE, cld do wi both picking up mind. Want FTSE 100 miner in ISA and was looking at this but may have closer look at RIO as is good price....more upside....and take your point re baggage......gonna see what them pesky Greeks get up to first.....

....get back in is my dilemma......so much 'news' on the horizon....55ish would seem a good price otherwise.......oh, and up the owls......(I assume).........
