With now 5p a share cash, and whatever POO is Feb offload giving 5.8-6.0p cash, there will be no 'no-deal' carnage. SP rose only slightly last week, suggesting market believes no acceptable deal imminent.
If so, attention will turn to Wed General Meeting and if 3p issue achieves 75% support. If it does, attention will turn to EGM (date to be announced) and whether current chief execs will resign before said EGM.
It is possible there will be no RNS till Wednesday wherein FSP (bid) outcome, General Meeting vote and EGM date will be announced simultaneously.

There are numerous reasons whereby no acceptable bid may arrive by tomorrow but a new BoD could sell HUR for an acceptable (higher price) price or raise $250 mill. I have given it but fleeting thought but a few instantly spring to mind.
1. The 7 Jan deadline set on 23 Dec may not have given enough time for serious interested parties to conduct due diligence, esp over holiday period. Lawyers, accountants etc don't jump so quick, even if they are already-in house.
2. It's the low Brent silly season. Interested parties may have been argued well 6 recoverable at $80 Brent. By end Feb Brent likely to be significantly higher with all indices saying will likely remain so.
3. Do you think HUR current chief execs have the negotiating/personal skills to negotiate an acceptable offer? I don't.
4. HUR does not have to borrow $250 mill. There are other ways to raise finance - farm in being just one.
5. Proposed new execs may have contacts/plans to use HUR as vehicle, or sell to someone to use as such.

Whereas I hold an opinion, I don't know what will transpire. But I do think that ..... '.....logically the CA/Albion deal is dead too' is a statement which simply can't be made.

Gloucs - with respect, you've skewered logic. Consider:-
1. If no acceptable bid tomorrow, then CA/Albion proposal is dead (your point).
2. If acceptable bid received, company is sold ergo CA/Albion proposal naturally dies (self evident point).
One can't cite both sides of the same argument as proof.

Put another way - the only circumstance in which the CA/Albion proposal remains live (ie.not dead in water) is if we don't get an acceptable bid tomorrow - ie: the opposite of your point

Last trading price on last trading day 30 Nov circa 13.5p. As companies asset companies are sold next 18-24 months cash being returned to SHs pro rata according to number of shares held. Common view is that 30p a share total expected maybe more. No sign of any SH stitch up.

The 11 Jan General Meeting has one Resolution, which if passed will enable HUR , IF IT CHOOSES, to return circa $70 mill (circa 3p a share) to SHs. The Resolution can be viewed by googling Hurricane Energy (for website), clicking 'Investor' tab, clicking 'General Meetings' tab. Resolution is:-

'THAT, the share premium account of the Company be cancelled'

Afraid I don't Gazelle. And no time to read around at present though will lock into my brain in case things ease. There hasn't been any wailing & gnashing of teeth on CA's chat forums. And CA don't have reputation for shafting PIs. Maybe these are good signs. Apart from that I can't comment further as just don't know.

Two of CA's portfolio companies already have an end 2024 monetization timetable - one even longer by SH agreement:-
Allied Minds - recently taken private by BoD, with a 24 month monetization target
GI Dynamics - Covid delayed clinical trials of medical product. CA having vested serious money shortly prior, & with significant upside product potential, SHs agreed (incl Saba) last year for GI to be given enough time for clinical trials & monetization - even through to 2025 as trials can't be rushed.

Having bought CA shares at 75p & already received 30p divis, Saba's CA exposure is only 45p a share. CA share price today 99p with HUR it's biggest asset. Saba's Boaz Weinstein made it big via flexibity & rolling the dice when merited. With 2 CA companies likely already not going to monetize until end 2024, my gut says Saba & CA had a frank discussion resulting in agreement that were HUR not to achieve a fair value offer now, a new end 2024 monetization target date would exist and a dynamic new BoD be given a 2yr chance to work magic. With a planned 3p a share divi derisking much, it is easy to see the risk/reward potential upside. If CA can't be wound up till end 2024 anyway, why monetize your biggest asset with the biggest upside potential in a hurry unless someone pays a fair price? Hence I am less sceptical than others re CA/Albion/Saba plans - though accepting I may be wholly wrong.

Re fair value now I differ from Gloucs only on nuance, hence price. $145 mill after Feb offload + $100 mill tax credit value (conservative it it's $250-$350 mill real money value to buyer) = 10.2p a share. With HUR decommissioning costs & 6 months AM rent already ringfenced in case well 6 dies tomorrow, the miser in me sees a healthy chunk more than 1.8p as fair value for poss 2-3 yrs more well 6 profit. a well 8 (or similar) potential, acreage. licences, HUR 'tidyness' & potential as useful vehicle. But as ever I look at a glass half full not half empty. As I say, it's only difference in nuance.

I posted LSE few days ago that ADVFN's (not known for punch ups) principal posters were being mercilessly attacked same as LSE forum April-June 2021 when target was to scare SHs to sell at 1.00p & aid theft of HUR at 95% discount.
A certain LSE poster has tried AND FAILED in recent months since joining to dominate & control this forum. Call him 'Billy No Mates'. An aggrieved ex-bondholder (ergo lost a longed-for free fortune when restructuring application failed). I posted he plays the long game.
In brief - over recent weeks respected ADVFN posters via diligence & research concluded (I agree), that a certain newish ADVFN poster, realising that his LSE control plan failed, moved (whilst newly posting like a virgin on LSE to rehabilitate himself) to ADVFN with numerous 'alias' accounts. Presenting himself as a new 'voice of reason' - whilst using his 'alias' account/user names to villify ADVFN stalwarts like kooba & fat frank. That tactic included seeking to confuse all by copying & pasting senseman's LSE posts on ADVFN under his own aliases to present that senseman was posting on ADVFN under different aliases (including his 'Billy No Mates' LSE moniker).
The ADVFN guys (smarter than our deviant) figured this out & now communicate via private messaging or via only specific ADVFN thread. In short, 'Billy No Mates' on LSE has shot himself (& aliases) in the foot & become 'Billy No Mates' no ADVFN.
May sound complicated (Note: deviants target is always truth confusion & complication), but to simplify:-
1. I post as senseman, NEVER anyone else
2. kooba & fat frank are most respected ADVFN posters & post under NO other name
3. the LSE (& now also ADVFN poster) in question posts under his own moniker (LSE identical) presenting himself as the Virgin Mary but utilises his mattysmaller/nonsenseman/fat FRENK monikers to attack our ADVFN poster friends (who helped in 2021.so we OWE them loyalty). With all respect to lucky, I get what you say but go with Corry. CA's 23 Dec RNS was explicit. And it was CA who pressed HUR BoD re 3p return to SHs. I have never entertained the possibility CA will vote against, and would be astonished.

lucky's point re with a change of BoD HUR will need raise $250 mill by end July so won't want return $70mill to SHs is fair. But I discount it for plethora of reasons:
1. I think CA will have been speaking to Albion (Buck) for months not weeks
2. CA forced HUR BoD to announce return of cash to SHs
3. CA's 23 Dec RNS
4. CA know getting HUR (& CA) SHs to swallow a 5% HUR shares (over 12 months) Albion 'joining fee', & further 10% 'performance fee' from 10- base (over 2 yrs) will be a big enough pill to swallow. CA won't risk renaging it's 3p SH return.& losing it's and HUR SHs
5. 3p return derisks CA SHs (& Saba)
6. CA won't mind an Albion (Buck) punt after a 3p derisk. But I can't see anyway CA (or Saba) letting HUR re-enter dangerous debt territory or letting HUR spend oodles of it's own cash. CA & Albion will have discussed raising the cash and are likely to have a creative plan for doing so.

My concern re 75% needed is that even with CA & many PIs voting for, that threshold leaves enough scope for HUR's chief execs to be on the phone to other main SHs for support to pull a fast one. Would you trust our chief execs?
