save for 2 posters who, unable to see the wood for the trees, have started a war over nothings
herzog is peed off because the thread (though already naturally easing off) was 'clogging up the forum'. he did not send an email

at a stroke they have killed a natural and happy ending to the thread up to a likely circa 100 emails by the weekend

But it was the very blow by blow account and obvious toungue-in-cheek humour contained therein which caused many SHs to chip in with emails. Without it, the email numbers would never have been so good. Do you not see that?

And I made crystal clear (see how the thread title was changed), before Herzy stuck his big oar in, that the razzamatazz was ended as it naturally had to.

Herzy's suggestion yesterday that SHs posting they had emailed the NEDs supporting CAs formal request for investigation should put a sock in it was an unfortunate slip of the brain we all occasionally make. Water under the bridge.

The greater email volume, the greater leverage the NEDs & CA have in ensuring a thorough investigation is conducted, when faced with the inevitable obstruction the rogue CEO, CFO & bondholders will continually present. The NEDs ability to generally curb further rogue activity will also be enhanced. It is that simple. If you think it will be made easy for the 2 new NEDs, think again. If the boardroom arguments have already started, imagine the benefit to the NEDs of being able to say, ... 'Not only have we received this huge number of SH emails, but they continue to arrive. Look at them. We cannot avoid conducting a thorough investigation.'

I strongly encourage all SHs who have not yet emailed the NEDs but wish to, to do so. And post their email-sending on the forum. Demonstrably, this encourages others. I will note the total. Do not worry about repetition or attacks of 'boring'. Both are good. The present total (minimum) is 84. Anyone who emailed yesterday but did not inform the forum, please do do. This thread's title will be amended from 80+ to 90+, if and when 90 total is reached. Remember that it is your Company, your Share Price, your Money

The number of gold stars presented has been so great that the local shop has run out and ordered a fresh supply due Saturday. Hence all further mega shiny hero gold stars will be awarded at a special ceremony at the weekend, by which point all those still wishing to email the NEDs will have done so.

Today prior to your 11.36am post, 6 SHs posted they had today emailed the NEDs. After your post, not a single one
They ceased for fear of appearing 'boring' in the eyes of other forumites

I clicked a button to see your posting history - comprised almost wholly of smart-ass 1 liners. Nothing constructive at all. Nor any grunt work.
On the face if it, you also did not bother to email the NEDs

It is fortunate you did not post last Friday when only 10-15 SHs had emailed the NEDs.
Because then the NEDs would have only a small number of SH emails to wave in front of Maris & Chaffe when the boardroom punch-up occurs regarding an investigation, rather than the 84 minimum they now hold.

How difficult is it to comprehend that a large volume of SH emails enables the NEDs to squarely say to Maris & Chaffe, when they argue against the investigation, or that it should be nothing more than a window dressing whitewash - 'look at the volume of SH emails we have received - we have no choice but to investigate, and to do so thoroughly?'
Put another way - 80-90 SH emails more effectively shuts up Maris & Chaffe than putting dummies in their mouths. 10-15 emails does not.
Not only that - being able to face down Maris & Chaffe with large number of SH emails empowers the NEDs for future boardroom tussles which undoubtedly arise if Maris and Chaffe do not suddenly discover religion.

Whilst we await further news flows (which SHs cannot control), the single most effective assistance SHs can give the NEDs to control Maris & Chaffe is overwhelming email support for what is a CRUCIAL issue - namely a proper investigation which could return circa $20 million to HUR coffers, and may assist in controlling Maris & Chaffe permanently.

The 'email chatter' was winding down naturally anyway - after 5 days and as my posts made clear. And I make the fair point that 5 days pushing the single most important issue whilst we await further news flow is not excessive at all. Boring is good. Grunt work is good. Without it HUR would have likely been dead in July. And where would your investment be then? The snake is killed by a 100 blows, not one quick swing of the axe.

My end comment is that the forum needs smart ass one-liners telling people to shut up regarding a major beneficial topic - like it needs a disease!

one thing we mustn't forget, whilst repetition may at times be tedious, was repetition which rose us from maybe 10 emails to approaching 90. and will be volume which helps NEDs investigate. and permanently locks into their heads SH feeling
if one reads most famous child psychologist Jean Piaget, it highlights the importance of repetition (or reinforcement as he termed it) to ensure message becomes hard wired into human brain. children reciting times tables is good primitive example
