Rolling out BlueCruise 1.3: How we are using data to improve software

I am proud to share that Ford Motor Company's BlueCruise 1.3, the latest software version of our hands-free highway driving feature, will start to roll out via a software update this summer to Mustang Mach-E vehicles equipped with BlueCruise – 2021 through 2023 model years. To me, it is really powerful knowing someone who bought a Mach-E almost three years ago will get an improved BlueCruise experience through a software update.  

BlueCruise is already available in 225K Ford and Lincoln vehicles on the road. The rollout of BlueCruise 1.3 demonstrates where Ford is headed with software development and the impact it will have on customers

What is interesting is their partnership with BMW & Magna plus the fact SOP was earlier than expected.

We have been saying for a while now that the platform was expected to SOP in the back half of 2023, so to get the first production units out in the earlier part of the third quarter feels like a nice win. While there is always going to be some level of uncertainty in the LiDAR industry, we are building a track record of credibility that includes delivering on our goals.

With the 7 Series SOP now underway, we are turning our attention to additional models and markets.

While the 7 Series was planned to be our initial flagship launch for the InnovizOne, we have said in the past that our technology was certified on several models and variants within the BMW Group, and we are pursuing integration with additional models. This includes supporting their recently announced localized development efforts of Level 3 autonomous driving including within China.

While all of the news about the first generation InnovizOne platform is obviously exciting, the bigger news today is around this morning’s announcement that that we are entering an all-new development phase of a second-generation LiDAR platform for the BMW Group that is built around the InnovizTwo sensor and our AI-enabled perception software stack, as an opportunity for a second platform with BMW.

Our first-generation program included selling InnovizOne components and perception software to BMW. The LiDAR components were shipped to Magna, the Tier 1 on the program and then manufactured into a finished LiDAR and shipped to BMW.

But the second-generation platform that we are developing is remarkably different. First of all, we are quoting the program now as a Tier 1. This means that instead of selling LiDAR components and only getting part of the economics, we could have the opportunity to sell the entire package, including the LiDAR and AI compute module, directly to the customer.

Worth a read looks like Waymo are still using DMS for development purposes & see value in the technology. How much SEE will benefit from this is anyone’s guess ?!

Super Cruise Satisfaction Is High

As of June 2023, GM claims as many as 80,000 vehicles are currently equipped with the Super Cruise hands-free driving system. Super Cruise will be available on 22 GM models by the end of this year. GM's reps mentioned that customer satisfaction with Super Cruise is high, at least with Cadillac's customers.

Had a look at some previous screenshots i saved from April 2023:

VS International Ventures have sold a little from 9.44% in April 2023 to 8.81% & Richard Griffith from 4.02% to 3.84%

Obviously we know Lombard have accumulated from 14.97% to 15.40%

Kilik & Co look like main seller as they had 3.71% in April 2023 & now have 2.83%

Apart from that no other Major changes except for Martin Ive accumulating and few other directors adding positions.

When will SEE actually announce that they are in the bluecruise ?? Do they really think being secretive & under the radar is actually helping the company's share price performance ! The share price is languishing as they have executed poorly on their PR & marketing.

What's wrong saying that we are proud to be part of the success in bringing this technology to the UK roads' Ford is the first brand in Britain to benefit from an exemption allowing hands-free driving'

This should be all over social media, linkedin, newspapers TV etc, what more exposure do they need to put SEE on the map ?!

Yes it’s a possibility but records say he has held his stake so might be someone trying to accumulate by forcing price down or a genuine seller ?! It’s anyone’s guess !!

Not seen this many posts on a Sunday for a long time ! Wow ..some serious research being done !!

It seems we all understand the great value that SEE has not offer & hopefully we will be rewarded for being in early on this stock :)

If SEE in their next results said we are going to be in all these new BMW models with projections in the millions then the share price would take off !!
