Pilots of IndiGo (InterGlobe Aviation Ltd) will wear a wrist gadget and use a ground device to detect fatigue and check alertness level before & after their flights. The trial is being done by the airline to strengthen its fatigue management system.

Pilots have been complaining of mounting fatigue complaining that airlines were using loopholes in regulations to squeeze more flying time from them, threatening passenger safety:

Business aviation manufacturer Bombardier has introduced its Advanced Avionics Upgrade (AAU), designed to enhance situational awareness for pilots flying Global series aircraft.

A collaboration between Bombardier and aerospace technology company Collins Aerospace, the AAU specifically targets in-service Global 5000, 6000, 5500, and 6500 aircraft that are equipped with Bombardier’s Vision flight deck. According to the Montreal-based OEM, the avionics upgrade takes these jets “to the next level by providing avionics features currently available on in-production Global 5500 and Global 6500 aircraft.”
