I am leaving Smart Eye and am about to embark on an AI adventure. I started at Affectiva in 2014 and then joined Smart Eye in 2021 when Affectiva got acquired and we merged the two companies. It has been such an interesting and fun ride. In the past decade we accomplished so many awesome things.

Congratulations to the Volkswagen ID.7 which has been awarded the 2024 What Car? Safety Award!

The ID.7 received praise from the judging panel for its collaborative integration of ADAS, inclusion of technology to protect vulnerable road users, and use of augmented reality to help drivers stay informed while keeping their eyes on the road.

If Smart Eye's 1 million cars are mostly BMW from 2018, what happens when they become end of life vesicles or will they always be accounted for by Smarteye ??

Also if SEE pick up these kind of volumes from BMW then we could be at 2million cars sooner than we think !

A majority of the 1,000,000+ cars produced with Smart Eye’s DMS software are manufactured by BMW, with series production initiated in late 2018. These car models all include Driver Monitoring as an optional add-on. The other car models in production are produced by leading global manufacturers, including one of US largest automakers, two of China’s largest automakers, a Japanese-European multinational car alliance and a South Korean multination automobile manufacturer. Smart Eye’s DMS will also be included in the new Polestar 3, the Swedish brand’s electric performance SUV that will be revealed in October.

New year. New adventure… In June 2021, I sold my company Affectiva to Smart Eye.

Now, after two and a half years, it is time to explore my next adventure. Starting Feb 1st, I am transitioning out of my full time role at Smart Eye to focus on my next adventure. I will continue to support Smart Eye as an advisor, helping with the company’s strategy and AI roadmap.

Last year was the 22nd Feb so probably a month away from news but big Q is can we expect a flurry of OEM contract wins before this announcement, according to PMG !

Long-term, the RVM is forecast to account for ~70-80% of the DMS/OMS market, which looks set to be divided up between Gentex and Magna. Gentex uses proprietary algorithms from its acquisition of Guardian Optical, while Magna has an exclusive partnership with, and has invested in, Seeing Machines. Smart Eye has no obvious route to market in the RVM, which may explain why it is pursuing a role as a "software tier-1" and taking on the significant commercial risks which that involves.

The first RVM wins for Magna appear to have been shown at the Volkswagen Group press conference at #CES, comprising the 2024 refresh of the #MQB platform (#Golf Mk8.5) and the #MEB platform (ID EVs). The volumes are significant, meaning 2024 looks set to be the year that #delivery wins out over #designwins.

This bothers me alot , how can SmartEye be partnering with Cerence, when Magna/SEE are working with VW/Cerence on the ID7:
