30%+ of UK electricity already comes from gas fired power stations. The Tigre Group has tied up with Baker Hughes GE for the G2W concept.

I suspect there are several gas platforms in SNS with existing gas turbines that are pumping gas ashore with turbo generators that would be better employed feeding power into the local wind farm grid connection, without buying any new Siemens stuff

All the information in the public domain suggests the Tigre Group has first mover advantage in G2W in SNS, so if rather, NUOG is in the lead as per AGM statements, that might need some early and concrete substantiation. No more NDA nonsense.

The company was actually called GW Enegi Inc , and both AM and DM were founding directors along with Josh Taylor, an employee of RMRI at the time (2005). Dissolved in 2011.

On the 19th September the OGA published a Gas to Wire Report which comprehensively covers the landscape without speculation. It can be found here :

It is clear that the capex of new installations to exploit G2W are beyond economic viability but expanding the life of mature installations or the deployment of modified superannuated shallow water jack up rigs would work in the Southern North Sea and East Irish Sea.

If you have a gas field which cannot or no longer can afford the pipeline tariff to the shore treatment and distribution station but is within striking distance of an offshore windfarm, all you have to do is burn untreated gas in the onboard facilities with existing or inserted generation capacity and lay a subsea cable to the wind farm export sub-station. The idea is to burn gas when the wind dies down, and OCGT units can ramp up and down faster than many posters on here. It makes maximum use of the windfarm shore connection. It does pose commercial and regulatory challenges. Square peg in round hole etc.

Equally you can bring a redundant jack up drilling rig into a depleting or marginal gas field and install a genset to export power into the windfarm shore connection.

You do need to have feed in agreements with the windfarm operators and you need a cable laying capability, which is presumably where the Manarvi RNS comes into the equation.

There is speculation about private equity funding for such a scheme and I can see how that might work if there was an exit for the PE fund. Private equity investment is all about capital gain not dividend yield. Any private equity would be pumped into yet another MFDevCo private subsidiary which would be fattened up for sale… watch out for the incorporation of MFDevCo (G2W) Limited with Graham/Minty as CEO/Chair and as significant shareholders. How much of that would feed back into MFDevCo and ultimately into NUOG share price is speculative.

All in my opinion, of course.

You are exactly right. So why did the major shareholders try to limit the board's abiity to do that? Call me a cynic if you wish, but having removed AM , they were on a roll and wanted to emasculate them. Cutting off nose to spite face?

I still have nightmares from miscounting complex proportional votes at a company general meeting many years ago, and had to resign as company secretary in consequence. So I know how it feels.

The share prophets article is premature. That said, I was considering contacting the NOMAD to issue a clarification until it appeared, but I would not have publicised that.

G2W is a brillliant idea. Never heard of the new Chairman before. Money is still an issue surely, otherwise we would not be discussing this vote on R7?

I too thought that LTs notes were an accurate report of events at the AGM, but it seems they were not.

Just goes to show that over exhuberance is still alive here and that is not a good idea to report the results of voting on contentious resolutions before the company secretary does so.

A verbal promise by the the board, if one was given, carries as much weight as a bag of hot air.

I expect it will all be clarified in the RNS report on the AGM tomorrow morning.
