Trying to make sense of notices on the Sao Paulo exchange is tricky, not least because the translations are flawed. There wère two notices today, one suggesting a trading halt and auction, and another setting a new basis price of R0.96 after an extraordinary large trade. The sp then rose on very large trading voume.

There seems to be no comments to explain it.

"Art.  9    Independently  of  the  foregoing  criteria,  the  Trading  Session  Manager  may  determine  that  an  operation  be submitted  to  prior  auction  whenever,  at  his  discretion,  the  size  of  the  lot  to  be  traded  exceeds  the  amount considered  to  be  normal  or  to  assure  continuity  of  prices."

I am making the point that the new man is using measured language unlike his predecessor.

If you have ever received a solicitor letter which uses the phrase "in due course", you know it certainly does not mean any time soon. Prudence has to be a patient lady.

in due course> in early course> in short order> imminent

Weeks or months is anyone's guess, but it's not "imminent" , so that lesson has been learned.
