Nothing has changed in the Falklands infrastructure in the past five years. Sea Lion is no nearer production than it was five years ago and that is just a matter of public record.
Reserves cannot be booked without an approved development plan (Sea Lion is still a contingent reserve) and gas reserves require, in addition, a market. So there are no gas reserves in Johnson by definition.
It is twenty years ago since the Shell well which found indications of gas, and no-one has tried to verify or appraise that event. The idea that Argos might be sitting on a huge gas "reserve" is at best a wild dream.
The fact of the matter is that Argos has nothing other than a return claim on an un-drilled licence area and no means of drilling into it after Noble and Edison walked away. Rhea is not a Sea Lion "lookalike". It is basin fan fed from the north, whereas all of the PMO/RKH discoveries are fed from the east. Desire's first exploration attempt was a basin fan fed from the west, "Liz" which was never declared a discovery, even though some gas condensate was found.
The major shareholders in Argos are sufficiently wealthy from fishing and property in the South Atlantic, so it will not be a priority for their well being if Argos Resources sinks or swims. They are living on hope over expectation, surely?
Gas will not save ARG in my opinion.
