RE: Quiet day again1 Dec 2018 20:04
This board is a medium to exchange views on this company, irrespective of whether you buy, sell or have it on your watch list.
All forms of public media exist in part to hold those in high office to account. In the case of this company, this year, much was promised, and indicative timescales given by the directors and the Chairman in particular, but absolutely none of it has come to pass. This is worthy of adverse commentary.
Moreover, when a company asks its members for money by selling shares for a purpose, there is an expectation that a report on that purpose is delivered to all the members, not just a select few insiders.
There has been no report on restoring production at Garden Hill. There has been no report on the progress of the MFD consortium. There has been no report on which targets are being progressed in Brazil and the North Sea. In fact, there has been no report of any achievement at all in 2018, just reports of intentions.
So, people are right to express views which criticise the board until they deliver something of actual value rather than hope value.
If the Dommo report and accounts due to be published on 7th December, make no mention of the company’s involvement in Tubarao Martelo then the NUOG report and accounts due on 21st December will make an interesting contrast.
Tweets of “progressing” target projects and “advancing” assets are not proper responses to the question of what are you doing with our money? This is a listed company that does not behave like one and it must have a weak or oppressed NOMAD IMO.
