I was thinking this evening how relaxed I am with my holding in GCM, and why I was not even really bothered about following the share price action today….

The news about the recent seminar that had the energy experts, as well as students in attendance to discus Bangladesh using its own coal, and in particular Open Pit Mining Phulbari is massive, it’s obviously now been reported in a few articles, and the really important item is about the fact that interim government is now also in favour of Phulbari and open pit mining being given the green light under the next new government.

SO, we are now in the situation of knowing that the interim government, (which means the student party), and the BNP, (who should win the election), are in favour of Phulbari and opm, so it’s time to sit back, relax and just wait for the elections to be announced, which from reports should be by December 2025 at the latest, if Yunus does not push them back to early 2026, and then is almost a given that GCM along with Power China, will be given the green light to mine Phulbari ….

So from what’s being reported, we are now in a better position than ever before to being given approval, and as we lead up to the election , the share price will I’m sure naturally show this … I know some will want to discuss the funding that we will need, but that is not needed until July / August, and who knows what the SP could be by then, hence I’ve not discussed it in detail lol

Dr Yunus likely to visit China, Thailand, Japan soon to deepen ties

On 25 August last year, Chinese Ambassador to Bangladesh Yao Wen conveyed the Chinese leadership's invitation to Dr Yunus to visit China at his convenience.

“The visit is taking place, as of now. Chief Adviser Dr Yunus is likely to leave Dhaka on 26 March,” a senior official told UNB, noting that preparations are underway.

Looking forward a few weeks / months, imagine if GCM came out with a mining partner RNS, and after looking like failing at everything else, Yunus in a last passing shot, gave the greener option to what they do from importing gave the green light to Phulbari so that he is remembered for something positive while in charge ….

Lifegody, that may be so, and of course you are right, BUT the really important thing with conformation of this news is that the interim government have confirmed that they are also in favour of open pit mining at Phulbari…. We know that the BNP are in favour, but with this news, even if there was a miracle and the students or another party did win the election (highly doubtful) then the interim government are now setting the framework and basically telling them to give the green light to Phulbari, so it’s now looking more positive than it ever has done ..

I was just thinking, that although the press is obviously corrupt in Bangla, there is no way that I can see that they would print that the government are in favour of open put mining at Phulbari and Bara, if that actually wasn’t factual, especially the New Age who have generally been against opm in the past 🤔

The more I read this the more I like it ….

i listened to the youtube link that redeyes posted this morning earlier and found it interesting to listen to what the army had to say and the fact that they are not interested in running the country, but are insisting that there is an election this year (2025) or they will take over from yunus and make sure that there is…. that’s obviously why yunus sounded ****ed off last week…

i wonder how much longer it will be before he gives an actual date, rather than just saying december….

surely he won’t leave it by saying nothing and have the humiliation of the army stepping in and throwing them out!!!
