Excellent interview digit, and good to see that Phulbari open pit mining is once again being suggested as the way forward, along side all other energy resources…

It’s the only way the country is going to move forward ..

What I am surprised about is how in the interview it’s suggested that all political party’s should make it very clear in interviews right now as well as in their manifesto’s about their views on what they feel about all energy options that they want to use if they come to power….. I thought they may just say and discuss own coal, but by the sounds of it, I’m now thinking that we will hear a lot about Phulbari and open pit mining, before the election, so that the people are clear ….

So it looks like we will find out the exact date for the elections on either this coming Sunday or Monday.....

The schedule for the next national parliamentary election will be declared on any day after a crucial meeting of the Election Commission (EC) on Sunday, Election Commissioner Anwarul Islam Sarkar has said.

"We have taken all preparations for the election. We will decide the specific date for the announcement of the schedule in the next commission meeting, Sarkar said while speaking to journalists in Dhaka today (2 December).

The 13th national parliamentary election and the nationwide referendum will be held between February 8 and 12, said Election Commissioner Md Anwarul Islam Sarkar on Tuesday (December 2).

Speaking to reporters, he said polling could take place “any time within the window of February 8 to 12”, adding that the schedule might fall a day or two after the 8th or a day or two before the 12th.

Rampal sets new record with generating 700 MUs in Nov

DHAKA, Dec 1, 2025 (BSS) - The Maitree Super Thermal Power Plant (MSTPP) has achieved a remarkable national milestone by generating 700 million units (MUs) of electricity in November 2025.

Yes, there is Jamesss, one of their leaders came out a few weeks ago and said they should use their own coal, and it’s also in their manifesto!!

Their manifesto will obviously start to be discussed in more detail soon, so that will expand on it, plus after the 12th December the Energy Roadmap is due to be announced, of which the Energy advisor has already said many times, that this should include using own coal …….

KissnCuddles , that must be about 10 videos we have had now over the last couple of weeks, all of them promoting Phulbari open pit mining, and yet we have still have not had one negative article in reply, in all the years I’ve been invested, this has never happened before …..

As you say, something is definitely brewing, and I’m sure it won’t be long before we find out ….

The second week in December is going to be very interesting, with the election date to be confirmed, this will probably be the 8th February, the Energy Roadmap to be completed and reviewed on the 12th, and Tarique to return to Bangladesh on the 12th if he has not bought this date forward due to his mothers illness….

Bangladesh Energy and Power Research Council (BEPRC) member Md Rafiqul Islam said energy security is one of the country's highest priorities after national and food security.

"If dependence on imports continues to rise, business costs will keep increasing, so greater focus on local sources is essential," he said.

Looks like the Energy Roadmap is due to be completed by the 15th Dec to be reviewed….

Regarding the issue, Muhammad Fouzul Kabir Khan, adviser to the Ministry of Power, Energy and Mineral Resources, told Bonik Barta, “The previous government left behind a set of plans whose logic was widely questioned. That is why the sector accumulated such a large volume of liabilities. When we took charge, outstanding dues stood at 3.2 billion dollars. They are now down to roughly 500 to 600 million. We are preparing an integrated master plan for power and energy. We are drafting it ourselves and will incorporate views from domestic and international experts. The chief adviser will review the plan on the fifteenth of next month. We want to show how we found the sector, where it stands now, and where it should go next. We intend to lay out a clear roadmap so the next government can follow it. We have already introduced several reforms (in the power and energy sector). While we cannot do everything, the roadmap will identify the areas that need further work.”
