They also say there is no historical short position.
Looking at the shares/companies they own a fairly large amount in the infrastructure sector (low risk.... supposedly) the remainder seem to be profitable companies.

that some private equity companies are Ponzi schemes! Also another one said "smell the coffee". Not talking about the investment trust private equity sector. Also lots of the non investment trusts have very large debt and If they own "jam Tomorrow companies" and have high gearing they maybe in trouble due to interest rate rises. For instance they may not be able to continue funding there investment and have there debt called in.
Bought some today will use dividends from shares (not specifically 3i group) to buy more. Just moved to freetrade can buy in small amounts with no stockbroker fees.

The cheap way to an increase in social housing (an example of inclusive capitalism) is insurance companies such as legal and general house building. If you cared about the poor then your money would be in legal and general. Not Lloyds.

Specials aren't included in headline Dividend. So overall decent share.

It does say its debt is well covered by earnings.
Short term or long term debt it is not that important, it's wherever its debt is variable rate or fixed rate. A while ago they issued a lot of bonds at low interest rates. Its a reasonable assumption that at least they were fixed rate.

The higher the price of oil the less people use and a recession exacerbates it even further. Hence the price will fall. Exactly what opec found out when they decide to punish the west back in the...can't remember.

Supposedly legal and general has beta of 1.5 over the last 5 year.
So if the market goes up 10% it goes 15% AND vice versa. So if you think the markets go down. Personally I am not sure thats is accurate (beta score). Owning some since 2018 gives me the impression that's it has good run followed by some heavy profit taking and it looks fairly random.
Also based on its p/e and dividend its in the value sector. IE share price should be holding up better....a lot better.

I am up an average up 30% share price increase since 6th April. Looking at the price earnings ratio a fair bit to go....hopefully!!!

I would have thought hawthorns was not contributioning to the profits? IE they had already been sold??

I have yet to look at the results but that fall suggests I shouldn't!!

GettingBy I would suggest you harras them pointing out that the 30% withholding tax is being applied hence they shouldn’t be doing so.

Presently GSF 5.78% dividend despite being on 14% premium.
Pretty decent return considered the premium.
Not raised there dividend for a while but plenty of cover for it.
Are you saying you bought it on a 7% dividend or the 7% is based on NAV?
