The latest Investing Matters Podcast with Jean Roche, Co-Manager of Schroder UK Mid Cap Investment Trust has just been released. Listen here.
Taken from Dodge's master list and modified... as AP is likely en-route to Zimbabwe for the next 2 weeks I am thinking some of this news may be pushed back to Nov and that we may hear something unexpectedly new/positive about Marange in Nov.
The 2 bits I was hoping to have had by now are tranche 2 and the BP restart plan (which he mentioned in the podcast would be end of last week but may have fallen victim to precognition again), suspect they may be busy preparing the quarterly report:
- BP licence (Oct 2018) - DONE, signed and executed OCT 16
- News on Tranche 2 draw down (Oct 2018) - Expected anytime now
- News on BP project timelines (Oct 2018) - Expected anytime now
- Quarterly production (Oct 2018)
- JV on Zargra (Oct 2018)
- Blueberry permits update (Oct 2018)
- Blueberry finance (Oct 2018)
- Marange DD (Oct 2018) - DONE
- AGM - DONE, all resolutions passed
- Plans for processing facilities for Carlibaba (Oct 2018)
- Other updates (Nov 2018) - Must be diamond related after the podcast
- Zargra drilling (Nov/Dec 2018)
- Faneata tailing processing (Jan 2019)
- BP production (2019)
- Eureka production (2019)
- News on Giant mine (2019)
- Diamond production (2019)
- Remin projects (2019)
- the list goes on throughout 2019......
Mornin' Perro. Thanks for attending and reporting back. Was AP wearing diamond cufflinks?
It would be ideal for the headroom (when the time comes) to be swallowed be a non-PI at a premium, in the meantime I would really prefer a big chunk of the free float to be taken off the table too.
PIs don't seem to have the appetite for this hugely undervalued and producing mid-tier mining company ;)
Dunno mate. Even AYM is up 12% on nothing, yet we get game-changing news and everything stays flat.
A little surprised nobody has updated us on the AGM happenings either.
I'm expecting BP project timeline news and T2, was hoping for today but "at some point" this week would be nice.
Teacup is correct.
"...exclusive off-take for up to 100% of the copper and zinc concentrate produced at Manaila and BPPM on
pricing terms significantly more attractive than those in the previous off-take contract"
Noticed earlier this morning, the Balkan banner said something different earlier (but didnt link to anything) so they must be working on it as we speak.
Good they're intending to put some new and revised content on there. Not a peep about Marange for some reason.
Let us know what they say.
Snippet from the annual report that I like to keep reminding myself about ;)
"The Group’s ‘first mover position’ in Romania has been in evidence in attracting interest in resuscitating the
large-scale polymetallic resource projects in Romania.
Discussions have been held with global mining players to leverage off their financial strength and expertise to jointly exploit these considerable opportunities."
I'm all for Vast's ethical and environmental ethos in this deal, it will do wonders for our reputation and likely give us brownie points for other ventures elsewhere in Manicaland and beyond.
Well done to AP and Mark for striking a fantastic opportunity in an area that is traditionally tense and wary of miners.
Well, Rio exited Zim a few years ago after 60 years of presence (they owned a mine "Murowa" about 200km to the west of Marange), but it was only scraping 0.9 carats/ton (vs our potential 50-500 or 100-200 AVG) ;)
They sold the mine to Rio Zim Ltd, a local entity, so it's not actually Rio Tinto anymore...

Perhaps they may be interested in returning for a JV with our new SPV, would be juicy goss.
Here's a nice snippet at the bottom of that article:
"But the country has practically run out of alluvial gems deposits and existing miners argue they have neither the expertise nor the resources to search for new deposits underground.
Yet Zimbabwe still holds enough diamonds to meet about 25% of the current global demand."
...this is where Vast and BOD come in to mine the remaining concessions and with the expertise of BOD, identify new kimberlites outside of Marange ;)
It's like we have first mover advantage again, just like Romania.
After such a flat week a bit of conjecture and speculation wouldn't be remiss.
I've been so bored I even found myself skimming thru Google Earth to look at the lay of the land in Zim.
Have to say, Mbada's development in "our" block A claim looks very substantial, they have loads of conveyors running which you can see if you zoom in. Can see a bit more on G Earth but for now here's a G maps satellite view...

Hey, not dissuading any talk of 1.2-2p+, after all, it's where we're supposed to be right now.
I wonder if AP is taking any independent research analysts with him to Zim to verify the background data for some updated evaluations.
