If we don’t have any orders (we may have?) and the HH is finished (who knows?) and AFC are receiving numerous calls from interested parties but saying ‘no’ and pursuing large orders only; why wouldn’t they cherry pick a few single unit orders? I’m not being negative and feel free to shoot me down, but surely it’s better to do something rather than nothing. ExE is atm a single unit as are Jullich and Acciona. I can see that servicing might be an issue if single units were spread across the globe, but if they’re in the UK it should be possible.
SuperStarr, as mentioned by DW, I’d hate to think we’ve a bunch of people twiddling their thumbs and I know they’ll have training etc to complete, amongst other things. I can’t help but think that a few strategically placed chargers in relevant locations would be nice.
I know it’s yesterday’s news, but the electric coach which ran out of juice at the Eden Project demonstrates the complete lack of functioning infrastructure for electric transport. Five charging points visited and problems at each one. Pretty sure that AFC could knock out a few ‘off the peg’ units as well as chasing large orders.
drew, a buyer would make an offer, which has to be at least the highest price the share reached in the preceding twelve months. The company could then be taken into private hands or shares offered in the new company. Unlikely imo.
DW, you can’t have seen too many failures in respect of sales, they didn’t have anything to sell. Sure, there have been occasions where timeframes have slipped a bit, even in the thirteen months I’ve held the shares, but I’ve decided to cut them some slack due to COVID. I still want to see a UK distributor re leasing (unless AFC take on that role themselves) and some updates around the current projects would be useful just to calm some jitters which others may be experiencing (not me). It’s the same with PHE and EQT; promising much but both have flatlined. All three could turn into duds but I very much doubt it so I’ll hold and stay positive about the prospects for future growth. I definitely don’t have the Midas touch but I’ve done pretty well over the years, especially when others bailed out. The hydrogen economy hasn’t really begun. Lots of headlines, loads of promise and stories every day about dozens of companies inventing new tech which won’t be available for another five years or so. There’s room for several players in this market.
Like it or not, AFC didn’t have a product to sell until recently. Best to forget about everything pre 2020 and concentrate on what the future may bring. The SP looks stable enough atm and I haven’t changed my mind about investing more. I’m as confident as I can be that this tech has a market and will sell. Patience is still key.
beach, a uk distribution network/hire company is one of the announcements I’m waiting for, unless they plan to do this in-house?
DaveH, noiseless power would be good, but for small scale events I think it’s going to be cost prohibitive, at least to begin with. I think AFC will concentrate on the partnerships already in place. I can certainly see larger events jumping on board though.
This irritates me slightly. Garonne does fixate on the SP but he/she isn’t completely negative and does contribute useful info. Suggesting that they suffer from manic depression is harsh. It might be true, or not, but that’s their business. Garonne does however show some humility despite the insults. I have PTSD but I manage it and life goes on and others will undoubtedly have similar issues. Criticism is fine; personal attacks are not. Garonne, carry on matey.
Let’s hope he has the balls to see it through. Too little and undoubtedly too late to reverse the damage caused to the planet unless he invokes huge change. Travel, leisure, industry all need a damn good shake up, regardless of the consequences. He needs to move quickly and decisively so that any president subsequently taking office will be committed to his program. Rant over.
Unfortunately Daz may be around to brighten our day until we hit 66p (as per his own post) I really hope that happens tomorrow. Personally, I doubt he’ll sell completely, but enough quantity to not comment anymore will do just fine.
