junior, good post.
Also, why would Schroders be looking at this board (we know they have in the past)
It’s not inconceivable that they use it to their advantage. They’re quite capable of researching beyond our level, so why bother monitoring what’s going on here, unless they’re doing more than watching? Been on my mind for a long time.
Halfshell, like you, if I can make some money in a company which is a force for good I’ll be a happy man. I can wish all I like that I’d bought at this price but I didn’t. It’s still a definite ‘hold’ and wait for me. John Kerry seems to be a decent bloke and I expect (not the best word to use on here) big things are coming. AB has fingers in very big pies and news never leaks. I’m comfortable watching.
£10k to each of AFC and EQT which will have to be my final top ups. Had intended it to go elsewhere but both are undervalued and despite the negativity from some, I still think we are onto a winner.
I’ve just read through the bilge-fest from yesterday. If you missed it, here’s a summary:
The AFC share discussion board became a sexist and homophobic chat room, full of pathetic and childish individuals who wouldn’t dare use the same language face to face. What is wrong with you? I can only assume that you don’t meet real people who are female, gay, straight, bi and trans. Perhaps you’d like to throw in a few ****** slurs today or deny the holocaust on Monday?
I’d like to meet you face to face and see how tough you are. Bunch of school kids with no life experience.
I’ve held shares in lots of companies listed on Aim and I do understand the frustration of investors re lack of orders. It possibly is jam tomorrow, who knows. On the other hand, I’ve never owned shares in an Aim listed company which was so closely courted by a much, much larger company such as ABB. I don’t think they’re hedging their bets and I think they have complete belief in the AFC fuel cell. Presenting on our behalf, our first order etc….
The lack of news during COP26 was a disappointment, but I took AB calling out the UK government on its charging of fleet vehicles as a positive thing. He clearly felt some frustration but maybe felt emboldened by the enquiries/contracts/orders earned thus far.
I’m prepared for every scenario and none of that involves selling for a few years yet. I was hoping that with over fifty qualified enquiries we’d manage to convert a few into sales, but if we don’t, so be it. I’m pretty sure AB feels the same frustration, but if everyone wants the new ‘S’ series we’ll just have to wait a bit longer.
Final thought. This isn’t some BoD plaything or lifestyle company. It is a British engineering company minnow which has managed to align itself with some industry heavyweights in a relatively short period of time. Just hold and write the money off if you can. Once you’ve done that it’s all a lot easier to cope with.
Kev, I think Ade is yet to realise that there are people on here with decent holdings or sums invested, to whom his inane ramblings and price projections matter not.
The ‘S’ series is clearly where it’s at and I’m happy that the engineers will be moving at speed to roll the system out. AB has ticked another box here. Data centres next? The SP can do whatever it wants in the meantime and I look forward to more developments like this in 2022.
athansius, AFC’s wording ‘expects to announce multiple new system orders’ leaves me feeling a tad perplexed. Bond either knew orders were waiting to be signed, or he was hoping for orders but nothing had actually been agreed. Using the term ‘expects’ can be taken either way and could leave him some wriggle room, but it shouldn’t. My opinion, but to dangle the carrot of ‘order book’ and ‘fifty qualified enquiries, the majority of which have multiple order potential’ is potentially misleading. I accept there are no promises in that statement, but throwing numbers about isn’t too clever. I hope for news because this could be his downfall.
Returning to my first point: His statement indicates an expectation of announcing orders, not an expectation of orders i.e. they have the orders and it’s a question of when that information is released.
I’m still positive, but watching closely.
