Yes, really p*sses me off when I see what the GLP (Good Law Project) are doing with DHSC/ABDX re: a measily few million quid AB contract. Yet, a couple of 'dodgey' billion £ to Innova and no questions asked.

@jdt. There is a distinction to be made between UK 'home-use' and European 'home-use'. I think the lengthier home-use approval AS was referring to in the presentation was the UK 'home-use' approval.

The article I posted from the Spanish notified body, states that there is only a need for 'notified body' involvement, where the application is for 'home-use' approval (European home-use, that is). There is no need for 'notified body' involvement for 'professional use' in Europe, it's a given once CE is achieved.

By deduction, we have to assume by involving an EU notified body, Avacta have in fact applied for European 'home use' approval in early May - UK 'home use' to follow later in the year, as you say.

So, Omega have only just begun the process of engagement with the notified body and expect CE self-use by end of July.
Avacta have completed the 'process of engagement' and actually made the application about a month ago.
So, I would expect CE 'self-use' for Avacta any time around now.

You only need a notified body in Europe for 'self-use' status.

So, it is my understanding that Avacta have applied for CE 'self-use' in Europe (10th May, or thereabouts) and we are somewhat ahead of ODX in this regard.

According to this article, the govt is the 'legal manufacturer' of the Innova test.
