Correct, BillTucker89! I might well be stating the blindingly obvious...but obviously Terrier54 cannot grasp the actual reality of it -- he never shuts up bleating! Lol.

Regarding the Mark Twain quote, Maladoni - twas I! I quoted his lines to emphasize what we are all investing in here...it was not an attempt to undermine or question the company's ethics or integrity. It was just to make a certain, and should be transparently clear to all, glaringly obvious point (not wasted on you I might add) that we are simply investing in the "HOPE" of the company striking sizable reserves of both gas and oil. This is speculation in its purest form...most people on here, it would seem, are incapable of understanding this. Cheers!

The Shorters have never once got this wrong; until they drastically reduce this will be exactly what is has been for several years...just a traders meat and bread. P.s They will get it wrong one day of course...but by then they just won't care due to all the money they will have made beforehand.

RMG and "CWU" are set to try and resolve this...

Oh and lets not forget other costs as well. For starters: RMG have always included "SA overtime" in employees wages when taking statutory holidays (not sure about sickness absence) but never when just working "Pressure Overtime". But that is about to change. RMG and Royal Mail are set to try and resolve this come early in the New Year. And of course the next pay rise...after all -- the managers have just received one! Both these issues will have to be back dated of course -- of course! Lol. The extra hour off the working week? Errrr...let us not include that in the calculations at present -- far too depressing! All in all it adds up to a lot of money. In fact so much money it could actually outstrip that 1.8 billion investment that RMG keep bragging about. Now theres a thought for you all!!!

5000 x £50000 = £250000000!!! I have heard 10 000 employees...but lets half that just for the exercise. Whats more this does not take into account the enhanced pension payments that would go hand in hand with what could be the offer. The offer of Voluntary Redundancy that is. Quarter of a billion pounds - yikes!! My figures are probably well understated in all actuality...I am assuming an average wage of £25000. In reality, with SA overtime included, a lot, lot higher than that. Could be three times higher -- or more even!!! Frightening.

RMG will probably win the day here; however, this application for an injunction screams of desperation...like I previously stated: at what cost for Royal Mail now then?

Whatever happens here it will cost a lot of money. If Royal Mail do get the nod on this one (personally I think the odds are in their favour) do you think that will be the end of it? Do you think the Judge is going to grant RMG an injunction...and then bid both parties a fond farewell with a quick "good bye -- and good day"!? This is now going to cost serious money. Like I stated: 50 million - chicken feed!!

Not long now...couple of hours at the most. I would not give that 50 million a second thought myself...chicken feed compared to the cost of what is coming.
