I think the NIH change may be due to inhaled IFN , although Merck seem to be touting news that SQ can help with vaccine efficacy now ( in MS patients - who I guess were taking it anyway possibly ? )
Also noted on the HIBISCUS update , they now are looking for eligible patients with ' respiratory' symptoms , not just symptoms . Possibly a response to Omicron cases , where the symptoms don't seem to be so focused on the lower lung area , and hence not really the patients that would need IFN ,well , not until a respiratory symptom arose .
A good move to avoid a similar situation that happened with SNG home trial , where they ended up with loads of patients with very mild symptoms , and hence no big effect from the drug on that particular trial . Their latest trial ( ACTIV2 ) modified protocol to look for 'breathless' cases .

I guess if numbers increase ( which they seem to be in hospitals over there in the last month by about 200% ) , we may get data sooner .
Interesting also that the NIH have been reclassifying Interferon from Immunomodulator to Anti Viral category . This is all part of the administrations ability to push through funding for antivirals .
Not saying it will help us , but should SNG get some breakthrough , then surely ,since the Department of Defense are financing Hibiscus , we may get some extra help in perhaps expanding trial sites , or funelling patients into the trial .

Also noteworthy was some disclosure of the WHO Solidarity trial numbers by the NIH .

394 patients were given I/V IFN . So it looks like they did actually dole some out . 1656 with SQ ( Merck )
But 50% of Solidarity were on steroids , and there looks to be no separation of the results into I/V or SQ cohorts - all just lumped together . If the WHO had ever sent Faron the results they may have been able to dissect the I/V results out and filter the steroid cases to show something significant . Who knows ??

Yes was looking at Sensei , their drug candidate looks like its still all preclinical , so a long way to go until commercialisation .
Faron is so much further along the road .
2022 has to be the breakthrough year for us I agree .
This appointment just sends the message that Faron are being taken seriously . The US , and Boston in particular , is the place to be . And now we have a new CMO , based there , with loads of connections and experience , to accelerate our trials and development .

I thought she may be Finnish with that name , but she's Sweedish apparently .

Yep , its all building up nicely . The news we are getting is showing great progress . The biomarker data was exactly what they were looking for , and all these new trials are now starting to take shape .
Total disconnect with the SP , but that's common with so many shares like this , until a firm partnership or license deal gets announced .
You could see the attraction/ commercial need in taking Bex or even Faron lock stock , as its broad use could help many other drugs , so the Pharma that makes the first move on us , gets the spoils and prevents others . Markku knows this . Faron still have a strong hand . Well funded for 2022 . Govt level support . EIC support and investment . US connections . Traumakine potential which could help support Bex development .
Who knows what may happen in the next 6 months , but I'm topping up at these levels when I can . Small amount today . Well below the placing price .
I'm not expecting any fireworks imminently . Just putting some funds in here based on what I've researched and the odds on it coming good one way or another .

Running Bex with Pembrolizumab ( Keytruda ) on lung cancer patients .
Not yet recruiting , but looks to be a tie up with San Antonio University - they are listed as sponsor ( so are they funding it ? )
Dose escalation also part of study - running a 3 week dose of 0.1 right through to 30mg/kg .

This ability of Bex to boost the immune response before other such treatments could be the key to unlocking multiple deals .
Keytruda ( Merck) is a $14.4 billion a year drug ( their biggest earner )

Luck , I agree with you , that they think Bex is maturing into a multi option cash cow.
I also agree with you that we may not see a big one off blockbuster deal soon either .
But that in my opinion is good news .
This new position signals the move to set Faron up as the ringmaster , making the most of Bex with multiple partners , in different areas , each adding value to the company .
I'm in no rush for a payout . Hopefully SNG will give me that fix . I'll take Faron for the long term wealth generation.

If we had one drug ,for one ailment, on one trial - you could look for a quick sale .
But Bex is turning out to be a lot bigger than that - hence this new appointment .
