RE: RNS!9 Dec 2021 20:32
Frankly Donald that's not exactly what is happening here .
You find biomarkers in order to help you predict the response to certain treatments .
The worlds leading Immunotherapy drug Keytruda uses such biomarkers as MSI-H , dMMR and PD-L1 in order to predict whether their drug will be right for you .
This field is all about identifying markers to help you select patients for the right treatments , and the right cancers .
Its no wonder that the numbers get reduced once you start fine tuning .
Yes , Bex will not perhaps help the majority of patients , but nor does Keytruda .
Once you have identified the markers , and select patients based on that criteria , you start to get a very targeted and effective drug .
If this had hit £4 today on the back of this news , would you have just sold and moved on ?
I'm not sure what the panic is . We've all been invested here for quite a while , and we know how pharma co's work don't we ?
Todays announcement should be celebrated as a big step forward helping get Bex in the right shape for the pivotal trials - because selecting this subgroup in future trials could easily double the efficacy results .
As for ending up with only 3 cancer types that fit this model , I don't call that a disaster . Just finding a therapy to treat one would be enough to command a big price tag .
And the discovery that Interferon gamma is key to igniting the immune response , and Bex being responsible for that , makes the case for its further potential as a neoadjuvant even more promising .
How anybody can be negative about todays RNS is beyond me .
You might as well just sell up and move onto a better prospect in that case .
