23rd is the R&D day - and Markku said that new data which they had on biomarker/dosing would be available on or before then .
Also he had info on the funding side I feel , that again he said he couldn't say too much about .

This latest update makes you think a D0fD tie up is coming , considering they stuck a quote from the head man into the RNS .

As for % rise , the post hoc analysis from INTEREST proved that T works . At that was over 2 years ago .This is just an absolute confirmation that it also works on Organ failure , just so long as with the lungs , you keep the steroids away .

So its got the market waking up now , just need something concrete on partner funding and we will be off to the races with T .

The Bex news will do its own thing to the SP .

But like so many shares like this , they all seem totally disconnected from the share price - until a £1billion deal literally gets spoon fed on an RNS to the market .

Off the top of my head , I think back in 2018 there were only about 30m shares ( now 53m)
At £8 Faron had Mcap of £240m

So at Mcap £141m today - we are miles below the equivalent back then , and back then Bex wasn't even in trials .

So I would say , there's along way to go until the market values us correctly.

On or before the 23rd Feb Oil .
As momentum builds , we should start to see how small this free float really is .

And he's up to speed with the news - and is excited .

The nature publication acknowledges that the trial had to be stopped early due to endpoints not being met , but now explains the same way the post hoc analysis of INTERST did , that once you remove steroids from the setting , the effect of CD73 up regulation is clear ( 100% survival rate in the treatment arm where CD73 was up regulated).
Further vindication for Faron , and absolutely bolsters the argument for continued development .

I don't think the current Mcap has put hardly any value on Traumakine at the moment . Its all Bex related .

"These results highlight, once again, the importance of CD73 in organ protection and the ability it has to benefit patients undergoing major surgery," said Juho Jalkanen, M.D., Ph.D., Chief Operating Officer of Faron. "We are pleased that the data was published and remain excited by the potential of Traumakine across multiple indications where there continues to be significant unmet medical need and no approved drug treatments."

Remember Markku's pleasure at getting the Traumakine patent sorted for the USA a few months ago .

· Induction of CD73 molecule prevents death after emergency open aortic surgery
· Up-regulation of CD73 was associated with 100% survival compared to expected mortality between 30-40%

So when Traumakine was allowed to work ( no steroids ) - and up regulation of CD73 occurred - 100% survival rate in this trial .

This is what the DofD are mostly interested in .

"CD73 is critical in removal of proinflammatory cytokines in the inflammatory process and I see it having great potential in transplantation and other conditions involving significant cytokine release, such as major operations and polytrauma."

Short and sweet . Great news - very encouraging .

The patents Faron put out can be hard going , but sometimes if you go slow , and try and absorb what's in there , it really can give you some extra feel for what they are doing , and you find some surprising stuff too .

It goes into a lot of detail about how Bex can switch on the immune system .
And thus be a real help for IL 6 inhibitors .
In April 2021 , two IL6 drugs were given FDA approval for COVID treatment : sarilumab & tocilizumab . Both were on the REMAPCAP trial , in the same domain as Traumakine would you believe it . Their efficacy was marginal - but enough to get approval .
Anyway - the patent goes into detail about how it can boost their efficacy .

And it goes into how Bex could work to boost immune system for those suffering from Sepsis & ARDS for example .

Are they also suggesting Bex could be combined with Traumakine ?

I know it's just a patent - but we are now getting into some fairly juicy claims here !
I may be reading far too much into all this , but they sure do seem to be covering a lot of bases .

The PD1 combi patent is pretty straightforward , but this now has to looked at with the knowledge of the IFN G biomarker - which alone could identify the best patients for success.
The IL6 patent above mentions that most responders to CPI have high IFN Gamma levels ( a clue to the biomarker they confirmed) , and highlighting that by raising these levels ( via Bex ) you raise the chances of responding.

Now, it has been surprisingly found out that Clever-1 inhibition in the tumor microenvironment increases PD-L1 expression on cancer cells due to increased anti-tumor immune responses. This broadens the use of anti-PD- 1/PD-L1 therapy in combination with CLEVER-1 inhibition for more effective tumor therapy in non-inflamed unresponsive cancers.

Especially it has been observed that the combination according to the present invention reduces primary tumor growth and the incidence of lung and lymph nodes metastasis.

The combi PD1 trial Faron have set up set up is for Lung cancer - as perhaps their research studies have narrowed that down as their best first shot .

Something is different from the usual goings on here .

One thing also not mentioned yet is this TLR9 Agonist patent . It came out of the blue in December 2021.
It's like they have stumbled on another therapy that does what Bex does - ie rapidly reduce Clever1 expression.

Now, the inventors have surprisingly discovered that a Toll-like receptor 9 (TLR9) agonists can be used to downregulate the expression of Clever-1 on alternatively activated macrophages. TLR9 agonist was found to reduce rapidly Clever-1 expression. The finding of the present invention shows that TLR9 agonists can be used as Clever-1 inhibitors in a method of treating diseases or conditions with alternatively activated macrophage profile, wherein TLR9 agonists are capable of downregulating Clever-1 on said macrophages. Alternatively activated macrophages are a class of the macrophages which are especially present in high numbers in the tumours, but also in chronic infections and therefore the finding of the present invention shows that TLR9 agonists can be used as Clever-1 inhibitors in the treatment of cancers and/or chronic infections in an individual.

I've learnt to never try and second guess whats coming next , but like our friends over at Synairgen , there appear to be so many clues splurging up through the floorboards , that its hard to envisage anything other than good news coming down the line .

I guess maybe these size trades are being done away from the usual broker market , then just reported here .
I don't think they would ever find enough PI's selling that amount . We barely get a handful of trades a day normally .
And all this being done in a very narrow window of 249-252 .

Interesting times . Shaun really is the man for the job I feel . I think he sets the tone just right , and now we are getting into the nitty gritty of finance etc , you can see why he was brought in . This is his arena .

Listening back to the latest interview -
Markku announced this R&D day on the 23rd .
They hope to present additional data there , that will have already have been announced by that time and to be discussed in more detail.
He talked of even further progress in the biomarker analysis , where by they could even start to build an algorithm to help predict the right target patients .
He also mentioned that the dosing and testing for Soluble Clever1 ( a relatively new discovery that required new assays ) was planned to be completed in Q1 and they should be able to give us the latest findings for the R&D day .

So we can expect in the period between now and the 23rd another RNS giving us some detail .

They will surely have to announce the R&D day on RNS anyway .

So we have incoming updates on the science , and also we are getting progress being done on the business end (COO , CCO in USA etc ) to help with this clinic-market strategy .

Things are definitely accelerating . And the volume these last few days is pretty interesting , along with Timo adding another big wedge .
He usually added in the past at placings , to make sure he didn't lose his % . This time he has added on his own to take his holding to new highs . Last chance to scoop up some shares at bargain price , as any further funding dilution will surely come with the announcement of some kind of commercial deal , and at that point , the price won't be £2.50 that's for sure .

Can sell all mine at £2.48 , but NT to buy , even £500 .
Often with Faron its the other way around .

Roll on to January 19th 2017 . Almost 13 months later . You've been checking in every day or so to see if there's much going on .
There hasn't been .
Over those 13 months your share has risen by .. wait for it ...5p . £2.70 . Not even any ups and downs during the year - literally just up 5p

So after a strong cup of coffee , you start scanning the share pages to see what else is buzzing .
Decision made - this dead horse ain't going nowhere - you cash out at £2.55 and stick it into the next big thing .

A few months later ( May 2017 ), you idly remembered that old dusty share you wasted a year on . Quick google to check if its still £2.65 , and blow me down its £8.10 !!

You spend the rest of the day quietly calculating how much profit you missed out on , and how if you'd only held on one more week - you'd have been on the multibagger journey you always dreamed of .

January 2022 . We live in an almost different universe . The world's having a global pandemic based around the very illness that dusty old company had been working on . You check back on google expecting that surely it'll be £250 a share now .
