2024 will be a major turning point for Faron , I really believe .

“We are firing on all cylinders to focus on our core mission, which is sourcing new, innovative compounds and replenishing our pipeline,” Eckhardt said of the BD team during an interview on the sidelines of the BIO International Convention 2024 in June.

“The bulk of our activities will be in sort of replenishing the early-stage pipeline,” Eckhardt said, pointing to Anderson’s comment. “But we will be opportunistic.”

Eckhardt noted that building a stronger commercial presence in the U.S. is an objective that’s being factored into Bayer’s M&A decisions.

Oncology is one of six focus areas for Bayer and Eckhardt’s BD team. Among the six, Bayer doesn’t have internal research capabilities in ophthalmology or women’s health despite its big commercial presence there. So, in those two areas, Bayer will likely be leaning toward later-stage transactions that “can quickly be slotted into our commercial infrastructure,” rather than early-stage deals, Eckhardt said.

Bayer shares up 10% today so far ( thats about $2.8 billion up on the day ) due to a court case regarding weedkiller .

Initially I thought it was due to them perhaps putting a tweet out that they liked the looks of the Bexmab trial and that it could be the next multi billion dollar earner for them once they take out the current owners for about $2.8 billion .

But no apparently it was just the weedkiller .

The Bexmab updates seem to come every few months .

9th Jan 2024 - First patient in P2 dosed - 32 patients in this trial

Every few months we seem to get a updated set of data , and we are now 3 months almost since last update .

The new CMO Petri Bono starts tomorrow , and the acting one ( Dr Birge Berns) is also remaining involved in helping develop the regulatory strategy for Bex .

DR Bono is coming in I believe to focus on the solid tumour strategy .

The haematogical deveopment side will be taken up by the incoming partner ( once the cheque clears )- as Dr Juho stated in the latest RNS -

"This especially strengthens us in respect to our up-coming expansion plans into solid tumors, as we expect to benefit from the experience and broader shoulders of a partner for late-stage development in hematology. This means maximizing our expertise and development capabilities in both solid tumors and hematological malignancies using a mix of internal know-how and strategic partnerships to generate broader value for both patients and investors."

Our Mcap is currently just under £200m

So we should multibag here just off the back of a Bexmab commercial deal . It will propel Faron out of the fundraising category into the income profit generating category.

Huge milestone . Then it will be full steam ahead to get partners lined up for the next combination studies .

I think he means a takeover where Faron cease to exist and you just get paid out . That would be the dream ticket , but I think unless that outside chance happens , we will start by just partnering with Bex for MDS , then allow the company to build slowly , hopefully attracting further partners and letting Bex show its true value . Then in a year or so , perhaps a takeout ?

Wake Forest Medical university ( who are taking part ) , is where Faron were running their trials with the 59th wing of the US Military since the early 2020s . So it looks like a continuation of study - with further funding to accelerate it .

All we need now is a Haematokine RNS and we've got all 3 back on track !

It explains why the Fred Hutch sponsored trial was cancelled last month .

The DoD have done trials with primates , and Faron have done plenty on this , producing papers on the efficacy and all the safety data . They have commercial production wrapped up , also the long life freeze dried version sorted . All IP covered .

Not much more for anyone coming in as a partner to do other than to fund it into commercialisation , with the appropriate regulatory approval .

Traumakine is valued at peanuts in the companys SP , so anything positive there is a plus . Huge amounts spent on developing that drug . Still just one small P3 study away from proving it up in the clinical setting for damaged lungs , along with this DoD application . Surely some partner would want in . Bex has taken all their focus for last few years , but it's still there . Here's hoping .

H1 results webcast scheduled for 28th August ( in Farons Calendar ) .

So we should expect results RNS on 28th . Not that it will tell us anything we don't know , but hopefully they will be able to put some ball park figures into what they expect to see as sales potential with the hugely expanded front line MDS market .

Expect a Redeye analyst note to follow shortly after .

Someone doing some big buying on the Nas this afternoon - big flurry , and its pushed the SP up nicely .

Here on LSE they will offer £1.75 for a huge amount of shares.

I for one didn't invest here to sell at £1.75 that's for sure .

I remember Markku talked months ago of when the P2 data from Bexmab was confirmed - then there would be a bidding process for potential partners . I personally thought that was a bit optimistic , but with the Bex data being so strong - maybe we will actually get that .

Not forgetting that we have a key player from Bayer (C Roth ) on our BOD . I've always struggled with understanding how Bayer can not be one of the frontrunners in partnering with Faron . Its exactly the sort of platform they are looking for .

I guess they have a data room where all potential partners can access - so not as to give Bayer an undue advantage .

Looks like they will be blowing the trumpet and pressing the flesh with the latest data .

Yes they really do have a solid financial and clinical team now .

With Dr Bono returning too , the company is looking great .

Yes Western ,Dr Bono must be fairly confident he will have something to do in the next few years . People like him don't waste their time on dead ends just for a salary. He's had years of running the Matins trial , and his specialty is solid tumours , so there's no doubt that the next step after Bexmab is to launch some kind of Bexcombo trial ( again with a partner ).

The untapped potential of Bex is so hard to quantify in price terms . Like Markku said - it could well work with all of the PD1 inhibitor type treatments - in which case $50B value ( or $123B expected by 2033 ).

Just a fraction of that market will see Faron becoming a real player .

And with this appointment , I think we can see now what direction Juho has planned for the company .

Also , as a side note i just noticed that the Fred Hutch sponsored Interferon beta trial that has been on the shelf for a while - has ( according to the Clinical Trial Site page ) been cancelled ( mid July ). Perhaps they wanted to focus all attention on Bex , or who knows . Maybe Fred Hutch had other plans .Either way - its all Bexmarilimab based now for the time being .

For this guy to come in and take up the role at this juncture , has successful future written all over it .

Very attractive for those partners in discussion - and another huge box ticked .

Yes he was the principal investigator in Matins .

That's a great appointment . Pretty sure this was the chap who was involved in the MATINS trial too , very well respected guy , and well up to speed with all things Bex .
