I've seen videos of people mixing drugs into an I/V bag ( not specifically ours ) , so guess that if the drug , be it from Faron / Rebif or Avonnex , if its in a little bottle , it could be mixed into a saline I/V bag , or sucked up into a syringe for injection . Faron have a kit ( be that for testing the patient and deciding on dosing ) , but whether that is what they have supplied to WHO , WHO knows ( sorry ). Dosing levels are quite different I think for the two delivery methods , so you'd need to work out what amount for what treatment .

Gk , I'm losing track of all the variants lol . I remember the good old days when we just bought a share and waited for it to go up .

gk - that link you posted from sciencemag - talks of trial at Stanford ( California) . Its using Interferon Lambda-1a , but Hibiscus is going to be held in USA , and in the latest interview Markku mentioned two hospitals that would be involved - one of them guess where ? Stanford .

I can feel a head of steam building up here .
Faron have the patents and legalities all sewn up for T . They were ready 2 years ago .
The multi million euro loan they got mid June was for creating this new form of Interferon Beta 1a , the one they patented for being freeze dried lyophilised in order to ramp up into commercial supply . This obviously isn't as easy as it sounds , hence why Rentschler pulled out of the production last year . It involved selecting a new cell line and serious investment . Rentschlers loss , as now they are the subject of arbitration , and also miss out on the profits of being the chosen manufacturer of the future Traumakine supplies .
No mention of the other supplier not still being involved (Lyocontract GmbH) , who may still be providing the current version for Faron .
Either way , for Faron , this is top urgency , hence they started proceedings with Rentschler , and now announce funding from business Finland to get on with it themselves .
I'm sure we will hear news soon - and have full confidence it will be good .

Yes Dys, you're not going to get much out of company communications .
So that leaves us with 4 tools : google , faith , bulletin boards , and whether a share passes the smell test .
Hopefully , a mix of all those should keep us in the ' glass half full' camp until results day !

I don't suppose we will get any clues until the final results drop .
Reading the REMAP protocols , they do seem to be talking ( in general) of taking a lots of biomarker data on this trial .
Plus lots of detailed info about steroid overlaps etc , so I do see them getting a lot od the right data , so that even if the patients were treated scatter gun , the analysis afterwards would allow them to see exactly what sort of patients they were treating .

Going back to drug supply , it was heartening to re-read the 1th JUNE RNS regarding the manufacturing update - and 2.1 million euro loan to start them off creating a commercial scale production set up for Traumakine :

Faron Pharmaceuticals Oy (AIM: FARN, First North: FARON), the clinical stage biopharmaceutical company, today announces plans to initiate a new state of the art process for the manufacturing of interferon (IFN) beta-1a. To support this, Faron has received a €2,100,000 low interest rate loan from Business Finland, the governmental innovation financing agency of Finland ("Loan"). The Loan funds will be used to develop and select a new cell line that can be used for future commercial scale production of Faron's human IFN beta-1a.

and Markku's comment also shows we are getting serious :

This is a very important initiative backed by the Finnish Government. We have a good existing stock of IFN beta-1a, but given the on-going clinical trials (REMAP-CAP and The WHO's Solidarity Trial) and the potential for increasing future demand of IFN beta-1a for COVID-19 and other viral infections like influenza we need to begin up-scaling our manufacturing capacity.

Looking the REMAP protocol documents - regarding supply of drugs and reimbursement -

This what the doc says :

The supply and cost re-imbursement of the drugs will be vary by region and possibly even within different countries in a region. The options will include purchase of the drugs by individual recruiting sites or centrally by health bodies. In some cases, the drugs may be donated for trial use by the relevant company (e.g. Roche UK have donated the tocilizumab for use in the UK). In other cases, the costs may be reimbursed by other companies (e.g. Faron Pharmaceuticals for the cost or supply of IFN-ß1a). These companies will have no role in the design, conduct, analysis, or reporting of this domain. Costs unrelated to study drug may be sought from one or more of pending grant applications, Faron Pharmaceuticals and SOBI.

So Faron don't have much involment - other than supplying / reimbursing them for buying an alternative to use .

gk , I think with both WHO and REMAP , WHO in particular , Faron has to get what data it can just from the quantity rather than quality of treatments . As the WHO trial has been made very simple , in order for it to be carried out in basic hospitals across the globe , I doubt Faron will have managed to implement any of their ARDS monitoring kits , or dosing / diagnostics . Maybe on REMAP they have , as they have their own domain , and most hospitals are in the upper tier of quality , mostly in the UK . Farons data will presumably only deal with the I/V patients , although I'm sure they get given it , they will compare theirs with the injected patients in order to re iterate their findings .
I'm not a clinician , so I don't know how it works exactly .
These two trials are adaptive , and both in very condensed timeframes .

As we can all agree on though , the fact that we are still in there can only be a good thing . And the proven fact that I/V is more effective than injected , also bodes well .

After all the data gets looked at , it may well be found that there is a place for both types of delivery , for certain stages or seriousness of the virus , or with certain populations .

Whether they get to test any trial patients for this unique polymorphism ? who knows .

They certainly will on Hibiscus , and that one we can be sure , if it goes ahead , will have each and every one of the important markers measured in the patients .

This has been only one of the Solidarity type trials that i can even see I/V delivery ( listed here along with Subcutaneous )
The IFN B1a is listed as REBIF .
Maybe for trial they can only list one name - and since Traumakine isn't a marketed name ( yet ) , they can't use that . So use the REBIF name as perhaps its being used subcuaneously and intavenously . They are both the same drug , just one is set up for injection delivery and one for I/V ?

I noted that even in the REMAP study , which is I/V only delivery , they still list the drug as REBIF , and that is even mentioned in the REMAP trial protocol document , as Faron have agreed for hospitals to use REBIF , as it is more accessible to be supplied .
If this is true , there must be a way to use REBIF intravenously ?
Either way - any I/V delivery of IFN B1a is our domain , never mind who supplied the drug .

All of the above is just what I seen , so I may have missed something .

But my understanding is that we will unlikely see the name Traumakine on any of these group trials , as it isnt a brand name yet , so they just go with the generic drug name , or the alternative suppliers ( REBIF )

Don't hold your breath Oil , I emailed them in March ( just to see if they'd reply really , some guff about would they envisage compassionate use of T , and was fast track status still active for T as it was hard to find any data online ) . Never heard back .
I was in one stock last year , they kept moaning about the directors , one guy emailed them as he wanted some straight answers , the director came straight back and agreed to meet him in Costa in Bristol the next day . Bloke had to buy his own coffee , and the director gave him a right earfull . Quite funny , although the company pretty much worthless now , so not sure it did much good .

Thank goodness for us , all of this info is now out there , published in peer group articles , understood , and will form part of the data analysis , rather than something to be learnt through post hoc analysis after the event .

Oil was wondering about the Lago effect taking shares from AIM .
Just been thinking about it .
So we have 47 million shares , and a 25 million free float .
Naz has been going about 6 months
5000 man has been taking on average ( and this is just a guess ) about 3 x 5000 a day ( sometimes more sometimes less )
Over a month thats 300k , so 1.8 million in the six months .
Lets call it 2 million .
So thats 8% of the free float gone to Naz .

Obviously we have had placing - but those shares went exclusively to II /pension fund , and those shares are locked in anyway .

There were a big number of shares that would have become tradeable in late May from the placing in Nov/Dec last year - but again those went to LTH /institutions you'd assume .

I've never had trouble buying shares except for when they've done a quick drop to fill their own boots . So on a day to day basis it probably doesn't affect us .
Where it may help us is when the blue touch paper gets lit - because demand will outstrip supply that bit quicker .

Ok , the Naz holders can sell , but there is a pinch point in Lago , so shares will spike and fall in their own markets , and only balance when the dusts settles.

Either way - another 6 months and that will be another 2 mill gone - interesting

Itsall , that article ref the Philippines is absolutely great news if true .
Knowing our predictions , maybe the SP will jump up tomorrow , as more info will get leaked as to whats going on , and Interferons are getting more of the spotlight , as more of these anti viral drugs are found ineffective .
And when looking at Interferons , the MS drugs have been tried first , as they are known to work fairly well with MS , but when it comes to lung failure , the I/V route is proven to work better , and that's US !. Jury is still out on the nebulized form , although I've got a few quid on SNG too , as the bar is set so low , any whisker of improvement over placebo will send those shares racing .

No point getting our panties in a bunch about what we don't know lol

I hope we do get some sort of clarification , although personally I think we are fully on track and this is really nothing to do with us in the grand scheme of things . Not exactly our fault that Lopinavir doesn't work . It was doubtful to begin with - but there wasn't much else to try .
If they do start mucking about with the SP , I'd better get the deep fat fryer on , cos its underpants and chips for me at £2.80 .
