Morning all . Invested here a few weeks ago . Looked like a real fresh project , real potential , and genuine people involved . This new appointment does look very sensible , and despite the SXX debacle ( I only lost a bit luckily ) , that was a pretty major project . One big step towards making this a reality , and will surely aid the financing negotiations . Well done

A few of us may have questioned what this Hibiscus trial is all about , given that we had Caliber lined up , and were on Remap & Solidarity .

Markku mentioned Harvard ( Boston ) and Stanford ( California ) - so both sides of the country - and prestigious Universities.
Letting the US hospitals get in on the act in validating Traumakine , and raising our profile, is a smart move .
Was or Is the mystery third party from the US ?
Was this their idea ?
Is there even still a third party ??

We do have University of Pittsburgh group on Remap - I've been following their social media , and apart from the launch of the trial , not much been mentioned . They do seem to be seeing less patients in that area , compared to the sharp rises in other states ( many Southern ones ) . I was hoping Dr Angus would be a bit more visible , but again not since the launch .

As of today 1200 patients on REMAP ( 660 with Covid , and 447 of them are in UK hospitals ) - that only leaves 213 Covid patients for all the other hospitals , so hard to know how many in the USA .
So any activity with Faron in the US has to be a good thing , and I'm happy that its not a group trial .
I'd be even happier if it never had to be launched too , as other developments deem it unnecessary.

Perhaps the naming of the trial was a subtle nod towards Sirpa , the Hibiscus flower is often seen as a symbol of feminine energy .

EMA designated Traumakine orphan status ( and its still valid ) - so it gets priority treatment by EMA
Orphan status gets a 10 year marketing exclusivity status on the drug
It also gives the drug the ability to be granted conditional marketing authorisation.
So when it comes to the crunch , we are in the priority boarding lane to start with .
Back in 2017/8 before the steroid issue - the clinical bodies were falling over themselves to push this though .

And don't forget - in Jan 2018 the FDA granted Traumakine ' Fast Track Status '
And it had PIM status given by the MHRA

For Faron , it must feel like being in charge of the Space shuttle on the next launch after the last one just blew up .
You know there's a risk . The first 10 Shuttle flights had a 1 in 10 chance of catastrophic disaster .
But they kept firing them up there .
Our O ring failure was Corticisteroids .
Markku could have slunk back , had a few gins and got on with Clevegen .
But his missus probably had a few words with him , something along the lines of ' we do these things ,not because they are easy, but because they are hard.'
So they dusted themselves off , and 2 years later a small Finnish breakthrough may become a global breakthrough .
Who could have imagined a global viral pandemic causing so much change to peoples way of life- it is just beginning - nothing we , or generations before us have seen before .
And the biggest thing the world is crying out for is a cure or therapy .
And there is Faron , pushing their Shuttle out of the doors on the way to the launch pad again ( it moved at 1mph - which I think we can all relate to lol )
I could get carried away with the celestial references ( reaching for the stars... ) , but yes , its a risk launching .
If we blow up again - I don't want to think about it .
Be a crappy day , and week , but not the end .
But they know so much more now than they did - have had plenty of time to analyse and re-check all their theories and re-test them ( and publish findings ) .
All I know is , the day that RNS comes through , there will be unprecedented pressure on my ring while I speed read it lol .

yes CW , I don't watch the Govt briefing much now , but did see yesterdays , and both the medical spokesmen said they were pleased with the dexamethasone news , but that they were expecting more therapies to be proven effective that would overall make a big difference in treatments . IFN beta-1a will be there .

Apart from the Clevegen excitement on their side ( way over my head) , slide 85/86 were the best thing to get excited about in the near term .
I like his last comment that they could have market authorization sooner than they thought .
Also can see how Hibiscus is a back up incase the FDA for some reason don't take the REMAP & Solidarity data sets as being valid enough ( these are new style adaptive trials ) . So they have Hibiscus up their sleeve . I'm reading between the lines that they don't think they'll need it , but if they do , its quick , relatively low cost , and in a country that has plenty of Covid .
So plenty of talk of accelerated trials and fast tracks - roll on the next RNS

I suppose its not a traders share - plus relatively small float .
It does mean that when it goes , it goes big and fast , but then we settle down to this .
Naz started off with 7-8k traded , now they regularly trade more than us ( 17k today vs our 10k )
It is funny though why we are still laying low - despite being one of the favourites in the clinical world .
I'm happy with us sitting tight until we get proper concrete RNS'd news , rather than yoyo ing up and down on rumours .
Some would say that at £3.50 we are already above the radar on a much higher level than 6 months ago .
Its given me a chance to buy more at least :-)

statement today regarding corticosteroids .
The results from RECOVERY trial showed that dexamethasone ( a steroid ) looked to be effective .
There is a steoid domain on REMAP ( not the same steroid) , and they have paused it while they re-evaluate .
So the Interferon domain continues to recruit Covid patients , but the steroid one has been stopped for now .
But it looks like they think steroids will be a good therapy .
Not a problem for Faron as at least now they know not to combine the treatments .
I think Markku said something along the lines of the potential for the two treatments to be used ' sequentially' .
Its shows also that the trials have been going long and well enough to get the right data .
Surely we must be next in the news pipe line .... c'mon !!

Overall a great week for the company , SP stayed the same which gave a few the time to add .
Frustrating in a way , but probably better to be a steady ship than a seesaw .
Last weeks I've had a dabble in Aston Martin and AVCT . Too much bouncing around for me . Was loads up then loads down .Got out eventually more by luck than anything else with about £100 extra , and a headache .
Plonked it into NCYT & SNG instead as a side bet . At least I know more about those two .
Trying to sift anything useful out of any of these ramper share bb's is hard work .
Thankfully Faron is a fairly sensible and credible board and a pleasure to read .

Its been hard to digest all the developments at Faron , especially when the SP stays the same , as many assume they weren't important . But the movement of the Clevegen program with extra funding , funding for the Traumakine manufacturing project , and now a dedicated USA trial ( still expected to be third party funded ? ) are big steps .
And so much news to come .
It's hard to know what news to expect next .
Whatever it is , it probably won't be exactly what we expected .

Nice chunk to top up - hope you are indicative of investors now seeing that Faron are getting close to the big time at last , and are getting a bit more of a stake in before it all kicks off .

I suppose one reason why the share price has stayed static for last month despite a raft of good news , could be that the 4 million shares placed back on 12th Nov 2019 , had a 180 day hold on them .
Those shares would have become tradeable approx mid May 2020 .
We know that Timo & a few directors had approx 200k shares at that , but the rest could have gone anywhere .
Those were bought at £1.90
And they equated to approx 10% of the total share amount - so quite a percentage .
So some of those guys may be top slicing , can't blame them for nearly 100% profit , and bank a bit so to speak.
Since Nov 2019 , the worlds economy has gone a bit tits up , and who knows what position these investors are in , they may have all sorts of reasons to cash a few in .
That means that despite our 5k man mopping up , there has probably been a fair amount drip fed in to the system recently.
Either way , the status quo will go out of the window when news lands , but this might partially explain the drift .
