PRK1 - I share your healthy critique of BT SP rise, I exited when it became clear to me BT was losing custom on a blatant downtrend which was showing no signs of slowing or even close to starting to level out. In my view the board are not getting sufficient grip of their costs nearly quick enough. Only takes a few more YoY falls before BT may find itself at sub 25% market share. It's high debt levels could then quickly become a major headache as it's the case that servicing big debts is straightforward when a customer base is very large and the dough just keeps on rolling in nicely but... that can all very rapidly turn on a sixpence when a threshold is exceeded and those annual revenues fall much too short of what's needed.

I'm not claiming BT is in any imminent peril but I am claiming there's a risk investors should be alive to.

VOD has now become the better LTH play in my view.

Cefncribwr - I disagree... with trackers them fund managers pocket their cuts from the profits (they drive around in sports cars with the fruits from your money), and if the tracker drops then you suffer the full losses.

Far more can be made from investing directly. Also depends whether you're buying your stocks and owning them or if you're trading CFD's - CFD's being super risky. Personally, I dont think selling was a wise move here... sure, I'm newly invested here but I think it has tonnes of potential, and little downside risk this moment in time. I agree with Sidney41, the direction is upwards here. DYOR.

I profited nicely off BT KUMS - Bought lots between ~104p-130p, when Polo Tang the moron was egging UBS on to give it a broker rating of around 95p (or thereabouts if I recall right)! I went large buying up BT, and then sold the lot in the high 140's (almost 150p) -back in Sept 2024.

I also profited on VOD too, when I bought up stock in the mid 60p's (Nov24 onwards) and then sold it off just under the mid 70p's (Apr 25).

Looking at today's BT results I think it's become over speculated upon, it booked shrinking revenues yet the SP has surged today - Looks prime for going large on shorting it IMO! - Mind you... I'm not in a position to do so, and I don't have enough trading experience nor deep enough pockets to go ahead and place such bold shorts haha!

I'm in other stocks for the time being (which I'm doing rather well on) - I'll wait for better pricing on VOD (but I'll firmly be staying clear of BT).

Back into the +180's - Soon enough we should be flying considerably upwards here IMO - I've not dropped a single share throughout the turbulence either, so I'm expecting to book some very healthy profits here for my loyalty with staying the distance! In due course 😎

avocet123 presumably still has losses on VOD even with the recent rise of the SP over there as I think they'd bought into VOD when it was far higher some time back along!

PRK1 - Certainly I don't disagree with what you're saying there 👍- Germany is pretty critical for VOD mind; as it makes up the lions share of the business but... other parts of VOD are growing nicely and so the business should do well, even if Germany simply treads water for a while yet, and I happen to think Germany should return to growth within 0-9 months. Makes sense you prefer to be in an undervalued share, and you sound content with the better stability which investing in VOD offers (buybacks supporting, and therefore far lower downside risks - I did say before I viewed this as a defensive stock when faced with global turbulence & I believe that remains the case) - your approach makes sense as an investing strategy tbf. I suppose it just comes down to personal investing strategy preference, and at this moment for me personally I prefer some other higher risk stocks - hence me sitting on the side when it comes to VOD. However, I'd never say never and over the next 12 months I might snaffle up some VOD but... the price has to be right for me to warrant doing so.

PRK1 - I somewhat agree with you tbf 👍 - though because I'm making more cash elsewhere at the moment I won't be buying into VOD right this moment. Possibly down the line within next 0-12 months then I may buy back into VOD but the SP is too high right this moment for my liking. I recognise others may think differently and I guess it depends wholly on each individual's investment strategy too 😎

Well I wasn't wrong about Germany continuing to act as a drag (albeit smaller drag impact now) on the financials...

I still think there's a way to go yet before any tangible upsides take hold and therefore I think other stocks will outperform when compared with VOD performance over the next 0-12months.

However, I don't give advice and so I cannot admit/apologise for something I have not done.

Sure, it's true JDW has rallied here - some of that lift can be attributed to the ongoing buybacks. Yes, the fine weather has certainly been a help to pubs for sure but... overall I still think on an annualised basis that footfall may well turn out to have continued the downward trend but I suppose we'll see how it all pans out!

So I took up the opportunity to buy up some of this on Friday 😎

It's certainly most interesting Horsey! Rather glad I saved back some cash, to potentially further take advantage here -I remain content with my SSPG holdings. I purchased a lot down in the low 150's, the recent small buy at £1.8735 did very very little to lift my average and I continue to be in profit at the current SP; I'm a fair way off from being concerned at all. I also have sensible level of wider risk, as I'm holding both £'s in an ISA, and I've some $'s too.

Although news is making a story from the 0.1% lift in UK unemployment rate I think the country is a long long way from any sort of major crisis. The global economy continues ticking over, and many global central banks have ample headroom to deliver supportive rate cuts.

Keep calm, hold for gold and buy on these dips IMO - DYOR

Sundezena - Oh for sure - I wish I'd had the courage to go short here but... As I've explained, I simply don't have deep enough pockets to do so as I'm just a working class PI and I cannot take on that level of risk.

There's always a manipulation or conspiracy theory narrative for whenever the SP falls 🤦 - when in reality these results fell short of the expectations made by speculative buyers
