Agree it's a good buying opportunity. Prior to results sold 75% of my Barc shares. As a result of today's price drop, purchased two tranches - first one this morning at £178.36 as a possible day trade if price rallied (wasn't to be) and a second tranche this afternoon at £176.3093.
Also purchased a tranche of NWG yesterday at £196.2672.
Good luck all,
saurus
Hold your horses
... it's midas the mythical troll with the fantasy touch!
Still, living on an ISLAND and talking to top bankers can do that to you.
Carrying out everyday functions must be a bit difficult though - you know, in case they turn to gold and all
... ahem, just like to point out my range trading involves no element of gambling at all but is a well developed and thoroughly tested strategy comprising a team of researchers lining up a series of different size treats spaced apart on a tiled kitchen floor (for accuracy you understand), for Alfie to hover (or hoover) over, thus indicating support and resistance levels.
Alternatively, there's always the sliver-trolley ID plus method:
"am pretty sure what's going to happen!"
"Am 99.9% this will be up around 1.90/194 later"
"Its building up - yes its going to happen"
In fact, "Was chatting to a top banker in US last night - She told me buy like crazy before results"
"Anything i touch turns to gold!"
Just noticed a large number of comments are missing from your posting history.
Your membership details state you registered on March 25th 2011; posted 218 comments yet only 15 remain on your posting time line.
Could be a simple explanation such as a technical error but given the problem we are experiencing with trolling and a minority of posters using more than one identity, think it's fair to raise this and ask why have those posts been removed and are you using more than one ID?
Afternoon and welcome MCMLXVII,
Bit of both at the moment as we have a persistent troll using several aliases who has previously been banned several times. If enough complaints are made, LSE will eventually ban again but I tend to favour re-worded nursery rhymes and song lyrics.
With respect guys - just read the threads, explains what actually happened and tells you all you need to know.

BUZZ-Barclays flat after 10% drop, traders cite fat finger trade:
Barclays BARC.L shares slumped as much as 9.9% at open
before recouping most of those losses in the next few minutes
** Several traders cite the move to "fat finger trade" -- an
input error where a trader puts in a buy or sell order of a far
greater size than intended
** One trader pointed to "massive volume" in opening minutes
- 6.6 million shares changed hands in the first two mins,
roughly 8%-10% of their daily trading volume

anilsharma,
can you please post a link confirming this latest development. Have had a look on line but can't find any news update.
Thank you,
saurus
Afternoon Mr A,
agree the chances of a £1.75 retreat is low at the present time. Makes it even more difficult to gauge the range but took the plunge last Thursday and stocked up with a view to continue trading the 185 - 190 range.
Nice upward rise pattern visible in the first hour of the past three days. So far sold half my holding. In hindsight should have sold the lot but just the way it went this time. Hope to off-load my remaining holding tomorrow morning.
All the best and may Barc continue to shine brightly for you,
saurus
Hope so as the offer is still way too low in my view. Good to know they won't be able to repeat this shoddy exercise for another year. Looking forward to the share price rising once the bid fails.
All the best,
saurus
Hi sugarpuff,
if you scroll through previous threads or type 'Shakhtar' in the Members Home page search, you'll find he/she has kindly posted detailed information covering every aspect of this attempted takeover.
Sorry to hear you've lost money Rookie. Even when Barclay share price is rising, you openly state your short positions explaining your reasoning which I respect - despite my football shorts joke which was just a bit of fun.
Although I think a major correction is a strong possibility and explains why I prefer short term trading at the moment, wouldn't be surprised if Barclays rises above £2. Back in again now so we'll have to see how things go this week.
Best of luck Rookie,
saurus
Mr A,
Have to be quick as on my way in to court (my main work involves risk assessment; investigation and presenting statutory reports).
Please know you are greatly respected and have a lot of support here. You put a lot of time and effort into shaping this board and it's much appreciated. Always remember and take heart from the knowledge you have a lot of friends here who have your back everyday of the week.
Take care my friend and keep posting,
saurus
Thanks LeeRex,
Managed to do a lot of swing and day trading with this stock over the past few weeks which has surprised me a little as I didn't think there would be as many opportunities as there has been now the price has risen so much. Appreciate it's not for everyone and it is time consuming but I enjoy it.
Sorry to read your currently showing a loss and hope your remaining 3rd makes up the difference when you come to sell.
All the best,
saurus
Don't feel this is something that only happens in Kazakhstan at all. There are plenty of ruthless company directors and senior management throughout the world who have pursued an agenda of greed and service to self. It's not imv a behaviour that's peculiar to any nationality or culture.
