Newland is quite a charismatic showman and it is easy to feel confident in him.

There was talk prior to the FDA clearance about rapid opportunities to grow the business.

The problem Bojo is that we were fooled into believing that FDA de Novo clearance was akin to the event of a new drug gaining approval.

What else would explain the major uptick in the SP in the period before the clearance was achieved.

Now the SP has no similar future catalyst and all that can be hoped for is an incremental increase in revenue

A pharmaceutical company is not going to buy a diagnostics company unless they have a diagnostics arm.

Eisai may have trials with 60k patients enrolled. But they are not all cancer drug trials and even if they were not all cancer trials would require Parsortix.

As things stand they are trying out Parsortix in one trial with about 250 patients.

Any evaluation of Parsortix would not be instantaneous so maybe in about a year they would have an idea?

Can they get a formal collaboration agreement with Illumina? That could be transformative but they don’t have one at present and would have announced it if they did - like they did with Abbott. Again that could be big but is likely to be exploratory and need trials just like the rns said. Again could be massive but is not yet."

The presentation reminded me of how they were touting the opportunities for business with Contract Research Organisations about THREE years ago. These are the service companies that sometimes run drug trials for pharma cos.

I had forgotten about that. None of these companies have signed up three years later and yet Newland said they would be champing at the bit.

Tom can you please explain why a pharmaceutical company that makes drugs buy a diagnostic company that makes diagnostic tests?
