I think gold will gain some traction next week. The US inflation figures are due on Wednesday with expectations of another rise from last months 7.5% rate.

The talk before the Russian invasion of Ukraine was for a fifty point base rate rise, but the Fed Chairman is now looking at only a 25 point raise and even then the outlook is dependent on what happens in Ukraine. Inflation could really take hold if they are not careful, which can only be good for gold.

Baldylocks, it was bound to happen lol. To be honest I just feel a bit of relief today, that I actually took the decision to sell rather than waiting and feeling under pressure.

I should also turn my thoughts to the many shareholders out there who are well under water at this time. They are steadfastly holding on, believing in Shaun and his group of advisors, to get the best possible deal for us. I salute them all, because it isn’t easy.

Let’s hope the sp rips up today and we get @n as notification on Sunday night from Newcrest saying a deal has been done for the 5%.

Thank you for all your messages of support. It is never easy deciding when to sell, with fear and greed fighting for your attention. I could have sold in December 2020 and had an offer to take over 2 million shares at 38p, but decided against it, because of fear of missing out on Scallywag and greed because I wanted to do so much for my kids.

But hey that is the past. I have no financial obligations now and can sit back and watch the developments with a little less stress.

It is with some regret that I have sold close to 400k shares this morning. I know I don’t need to tell people this, but I have always been straight on my dealings here and know that people have been holding on, (even at a loss for some), in these challenging times.
I have three grown up children and have helped two of them with deposits for their houses. The third has waited patiently for some six months or so for me to help her. She knows I have been waiting for some pick up in the price, but she is at a point where she needs that financial help.
It gives me no pleasure to sell at this ridiculously low price, but I take comfort that I am helping her and also that it has taken a weight from my shoulders now that I know she isn’t waiting.
I can put the rest of my 2.2 million shares away, knowing I can leave them to develop over time.

Knowing my luck though, we will get the 5% negotiations Rns on Monday saying a deal has been done, with the shares doubling in price. lol!

Anyway, all have a great weekend.

Speedy, if I could ask you what you think will happen to the planned interest rate hikes that many in the U S economy have been forecasting?

With the Financial markets being hit hard this week, will the Fed want to heap more misery onto businesses at this point and send them down even further?

The price of oil has gone through the $100 dollar resistance level, which will impact price inflation, so if the Fed do nothing inflation will get even bigger.

Would appreciate your views on this and what effect on gold it will have.
