I would sincerely hope we are above £5 in a years time, as that's little over 2% increase on where we are now. As for a lot high I guess we'll have to wait and see.
On the days performance DLG shareholders are going to be the happier - and I think if it was me I'd be saying thankyou very much and selling in the market today rather than wait around.
For Aviva shareholder it's looks like we are going to have to wait to see the benefits. For a start its clearly not yet a done deal, with regulatory hurdles to get over, and likely that the CMA will be looking at the deal. What will we have to offer to get the deal through. Aviva will be arguing that the combined group will offer synergies and opportunities for cost savings - but the CMA may well want to be convinced that it will be consumers rather than shareholder that will be picking up the lions share of these benefits.
I'm not unhappy with the deal, as it potentially continues the transformation of the business under Le Blanc, however it is going to require patience if we are to see the benefits.
