Hi Krusty , yes I am down too but will hold on to see what happens .i have reinvested divs all along to slower lower average but still at a loss . Now as they pay out I will take the cash . Think they def overpaid for the main part of grindrod and certainly charter rates were on the floor for sone time . Market response at the moment seems positive .

Clearly a lot of cash being returned in special dividend. Possibly more to come depending on strategic review. Dividend review though . Mike , Krusty et al , will be interested in your thoughts .

Sells far greater than buys yet shares go up 4.5 percent .Not complaining but unless there is a leak on some news coming I am puzzled .

HI ,Krusty, Mike et al. I am also definetly sticking. Right now to have a load of money in the bank is a very good pace to be I feel. Also in a presentation a break even figure was mentioned which I cant quite recall but know we are near. A family with this much experience of a cyclical sector I will continue to back . If rates and ship values fall before year end then def a possibility we will be back in the market. If not I feel a very large dividend coming that I will either reinvest or put in other high yielding companies.

Currently sitting on a 67% and did not even buy in at the top. Thought was a great company and would be bought out at some point but every week slowly sinks lower. Have I made a mistake ?

Hi Krusty , I think if ship prices collapse then we may see buys. If not then a return of capital more likely . Like the way you posted . Serious stuff but amusing .

Obviously a strong cash position now which gives the company options on what to do with it, including returning some to shareholders. Charter rate for supramaxes disappointing . But plus 80 per cent days for rest of year fixed at plus usdollars 1000 a day more good news . Given loss , the challenge is whilst at moment a small fleet company but carrying the overheads of a big fleet company , to get overheads down .

This update should prove to be rather interesting I feel . Index has held very firm and actually strengthened a bit since Mikes post . Good luck all and fingers crossed . Sam .

Hi , very good results , esp given current state of Uk . Any business in this current climate is going to have some challenges . Two here which were handled quickly and efficiently and satisfactorily resolved . Div up . A solid and safe play . I like it a lot

Over £125,000 share bought and under £1000 sold. Yet the share price hardly moves. One can understand why so many companies and either leaving the ftse or delisting.

I have invested in this as well . The gold and silver obviously attractive let alone the bonus of the huge copper potential. CEO also having a great track record . Good luck all

Hi Krusty . Personally I think unlikely although one never knows of course . The reason I say unlikely is I got the clear impression that the grindrod purchase was a lot more painful and time consuming than has perhaps been acknowledged . Also the cost cutting exercise probably involved redundancies , again v painful . All this may have temporarily damned the appetite for a further acquisition .
