LG - Having previously worked for a large stockbrokers I can tell you there are many reasons for small trades. Quite often these will be as a result of a recent death and the share certificates are found when clearing out a persons effects. Another common reason for small purchases is when a parent wishes to buy a single share in a company as a birthday gift - Most common in my time were shares in football clubs and large conglomerates or with a company that has a specific interest to an individual. Certificates when framed make a brilliant talking point in any room. I appreciate this covers only a few points but there really are a number of reasons for small share sales. With regards to odd numbers - clients would often phone up and deal in cash amounts rather than actual quantities. By giving cash amounts they know exactly how much will be coming out of accounts after all costs and commission has been deducted. Hope this gives you a little insight in to the questions you raised. Hardide Coatings has secured formal approved supplier status from bae systems for the use of its unique ultra-hard tungsten carbide, chemical vapour deposition (CVD) coating on components for the Eurofighter Typhoon. This is the first aerospace sector approval for Oxfordshire, UK-based Hardide. The company has developed a patented tungsten carbide surface engineering technology which combines abrasion, erosion, friction and chemical resistant properties in one coating. The coating is now approved for use in the production of the Typhoon canopy. Given that HDD coating technology has been approved and is in use on Typhoon aircraft surely it can only be a matter of time before Airbus and Westland give their approval/confirmation. As an afterthought with HDD being currently valued in the region of £22 million is there a possibility of a large stake being built up by the likes of Boeing? I am sure they would like to have one over on Airbus!!!! Hold that thought............................

Lot of large buys waiting in the wings @ 11.75 but not enough to fill on the selling side! I think that may be about to change. Here's hoping

Beevorma - I use The Share Centre and can recommend it. Been with them over 20 years. Monthly charge on account is £1.80. No inactivity fees.Trade at minimum of £7.50 but the best thing for me is that if you hold shares on Share Plc which is the parent company you get dealing discount and that takes my trades down to £5.25. Added to that Share Plc also pays a dividend albeit a small one but it all adds up to saving money. Good luck with your search

This has been tipped in this week's copy of Shares. Writer has a target price in region of 40p. Results due out next month.

Excellent to see that they have raised the interim divi by 33% to 12p. Xd 22 Mar 13 and Div paid 10 Apr 13. Continues to perform well and long may it continue

Really pleased with this stock. It continues to go from strength to strength and also has a decent dividend. Weekly news on new contracts and one to stick in any portfolio.

Nice to see the publication of a good set of results for this company. Add in the payment of a maiden divi and this is looking very promising. Well done SID!!!!!

Decided to take the 1st step with SID ahead of the results due next week. May fortune favour the brave!

Given that positive news is issued regarding GFRD on an almost daily/ weekly basis surely this must bode well for the future. I see a number of brokers have set a £5 target on the stock already which is a 35% premium to current share price. Additionally the divi holds up well making this share , in my view, a sound addition to any portfolio both in the terms of income and growth.

Company has said that the results will "comfortably meet market expectations". Extremely positive hence the rise today. As results are due to be announced on 26 Mar 09 then this may well be a buying opportunity. I hold these shares so DYOR. As always good luck to fellow investors. Regards - M

Another significant property purchase which when fully let will realise an almost 10% return. Given the current market valuation against the property portfolio this seriously undervalues this company. As GedW previously stated "these shares look as cheap as chips". Afternoon GedW, I am inclined to agree with you on the takeover side. CEO has been building up a considerable holdings over the last year. At current level this share is in addition trading slightly below NAV (10.4p). Going to follow this one closely as like you I believe there are going to be some interesting times ahead.

CEO has raised his stake in the company with yet another large purchase taking his holdings to over 21%. Tempted to follow his enthusiasm myself!
