GG, Peakview and the rest,
I have been around here well before IOG started, in the days of EELI & Most. (the predesessors of IOG)
Took over some shares in EELI from Pat Haynes, who has passed away last year, but if Pat was not the father of IOG, he was defenitely the midwife.
My holding is modest (350K shares) but after all these years it is worth holding on and waiting for nice things to come! A target of 50 p does not sound unreasonable now.
IMHO, DYOR (copyright Dunder)
Have a nice day!
Thank you GG for your insight and confirmation
SpArmada: The Putford Jaguar is a "normal" stand-by safety vessel. The type of vessels are required at every surface offshore facility (or a group of unmanned facilities like wind-farms) as guard vessel and especially on manned platforms for emergency response & man-overboard situations. So in my view the link with remedial work on Blythe and the Putford Jaguar is non-existing.
Your research on the EDT Hercules: interesting and probably true!
Have a nice day , all
The position of EDT Hercules is not close to the recently laid export pipeline from Southwark to the Thames pipeline. Offshore business and maintenance as usual, I assume.
Good morning,
The offshore support vessel Seven Kestrel left the Southwark location a few days ago. She spend a day in Blythe (offloading project equipment?) and is now heading North.
I assume that the tie-in work between the platform and the export pipe-line at Southwark is completed.
The tie-in of the Southwark export pipeline to the main Thames pipeline still to be done?
And there is no other significant marine activity at the IOG locations. Business as usual, producing gas from Elgood and Blythe and driling with the Noble Hans Deul at Southwark.
Have a nice weekend.
Good morning,
The last operations RNS was very informative and clear.
The Offshore Support / Diving Vessel Seven Kestrel has been at Southwark this past week, working on the tie-in of the export pipeline to the platform. I assume this involves diving operations and underwater welding of the spool pieces to the pipeline. As an ex-master of diving support vessels I know this is a takes time and is performed by professionals.
The PSV Vos Paradise did her regular cargo runs from Great Yarmouth to the NHDeul JU rig; drilling continues and it is offshore business as usual.
Have a nice weekend.
Mole,
The second well at Southwark will also be drilled from the platform. A technique called directional drilling makes it possible to drill wells that end up away from the platform, instead of only vertical wells. A lot of information is available on the internet about this.
GGIS: I fully agree, there should be more operational information from the BOD of IOG. We as private investors are not stupid, all we want is regular updates on how things are progressing, both offshore and onshore!
Have a nice weekend.
Good morning,
And in the meantime it is business as usual offshore.
The Offshore Support Vessel Seven Kestral has been working around Southwark now for some days. I assume that this is all about the tie-in work, possibly including diving operations, of the export pipe-line to the platform.
PSV Vos Paradise did a few cargo runs to the NHDeul
No marine activities are seen at Blythe
Have a nice weekend
Hope9: The work for the Seven Kestrel is in my opinion mainly underwater, making the connection / tie-in between the export pipeline and the platform. Drilling should (IMHO) not be affected. But.. i am not party to the HSQE requirements offshore. Approved procedures how to do this work while drilling continoes will be in place!
Good morning,
At Southwark the Diving Support Vessel Seven Kestral is on location. I assume that this vessel will be working on the tie-in of the recently laid export pipe-line to the platform and later at the other end to the main Thames export line manifold.
The vessel is a diving support vessel with a twin diving bell system and capable for a 18-man diving team (saturation diving, which means that the divers live under pressure during their time on board (weeks) and transfer under pressure to a diving bell that is then lowered to the working depth - approx 35 meters subsea around Southwark) In addition the vessel has ROV capability and a 120 ton crane that can lift equipment to the subsea facilities.
In summary: the work on the Southwark export pipe-line continoes .
3 survey vessels are around the Blythe location for some time already. Unknown if this has any relation to the IOG work; it may also be preparation for a new offshore wind-park in the area.
Have a nice day
Good morning,
The pipe-lay vessel Seven Borealis apparently has completed her job and has departed from the Southwark area yesterday around 10 PM, returning to Rotterdam.
The 6 km export pipeline from Southwark to the main Thames export pipeline has been laid. Tie-in, testing and commissioning is next, but only guess-work when this will be completed. An operational update from IOG would be nice!
Drilling at Southwark continues with the PSV Vos Paradise at regular cargo runs from Great Yarmouth to the JU rig Noble Hans Deul
Have a great weekend
Why not edgar222?
Drilling on Southwark has been ongoing for quite some time now on the first well.
The export pipeline will be ready by then (in my opinion)
Unknown to me: can production start from the first well when drilling is still ongoing on the second Southwark well? Or do they have to wait for technical reasons till both wells are drilled?
Time will tell, I keep fingers crossed
GLA
JH77: to complete , tie-in and test / commission a pipeline is usually a matter of weeks., maybe months, depending on the complexity of the work.
As I understand the production from Southwark is not scheduled to start until Q4/2022.
So in my opinion the pipe-lay work is on schedule and will not affect the planned production start.
Good afternoon,
Pipe-lay vessel Seven Borealis is still moving at a very slow (pipe-laying?) speed in a Southerly direction away from Southwark. By now she is approx 6 km away from Southwark , which indicates that the vessel is comimg close to the end of the export pipeline from Southwark to the Thames export pipeline manifold.
There were 2 PSV alongside the Sevan Borealis some days ago. My guess is that they offloaded all the pipe-sections needed to complete the 6 km export line and that all required pipe-sections are now onboard the Seven Borealis.
The offshore support vessel Sevan Kestral is also still around in the field. According to Marine Traffic her destination is (still) Southwark. Is this the vessel that will assist with the tie-ins of the Southwark export line to the platform and the Thames manifold?
At Blythe no major marine activities noted.
For thos interested in offshore pipe-laying: there is quite a lot of good information on U-tube. The Allseas video's are good information, but also the rest!. They give a good impression about the work that has to be carried out before gas actually flows. And most of all: it is a slow process, carefully carried out by professionals. So patience guys&dolls, patience. This part of the work will be OK at the end!
Have a nice day and a great weekend.
Good morning,
The pipelay vessel Seven Borealis is this morning at a slow & steady (pipe-lay) speed in a southerly direction away from Southwark.
Total distance from the platform is approx 3 km; the educated guess is that approx half of the 6 km export pipeline is now on the seabed and at the present pipe-lay speed the total export pipe should be on the seabed in the next 2 days.
The PSV ENEA is now alongside to offload pipe sections. The weather forecast for the next days is good.
Once the export pipe is on the seabed, there is still quite a lot of work to do : tie-in of the export pipe to Southwark platform and the manifold to the main Thames pipeline, testing and commisioning. But there is a lot of time to do that; production from Southwark is scheduled for Q4 of this year
Have a nice day.
Good morning,
Yesterday's marine ops update was likely a bit too optimistic with the guess that the export pipeline was probably already laid. It looks like the actual pipelaying work is cariied out right now. Maybe yesterday's run from the south to Southwark was a final seabed seurvey?
The Seven Borealis pipelay vessel has been moving at a slow and steady pace (pipelay speed) from Southwark in a SE'ly direction. The supply vessel North Pomor is alongside the Seven Borealis now (offloading pipe sections?) and another PSV ENEA is hovering around (with more pipe sections?)
I'll keep an eye out over the following days with more "educated guesses" before we receive the next operational update from the source IOG.
Have a nice day
Good morning,
Quite busy around Southwark right now.
The pipelay vessel Seven Borealis is alongside the platform at this very moment. The past track shows that the vessel did a track of some 6 km from the south to the platform. An educated guess: the remaining export pipline was actually laid over the past days and right now all but completed. Note: that is tha actual pipeline, the connecting lines to the platform and the manifold to the Thames pipeline may still be completed.
2 Platform Supply Vessels are also on location, the regular Vos Paradise and a newcomer North Pomor
And at Blythe no arine activity recorded recently
Have a nice day
Good morning,
Here in The Netherlands we are getting ready for the Whitsun weekend, which is quite an event here. In my hometown Delfzijl this weekend is filled with activities around te harbour and in the city centre. The weather is great, looking forward to a weekend with friends, family, a few beers and lots of fun!
And offshore work continous: the pipelay vessel Seven Borealis has arrived at the Southwark location this morning and will lay the last 6 km of export pipeline from Southwark to the main Bacton export line.
It is good to see that this part of the work is actually progressing as planned and promised.
Elwood and Blythe are producing gas and the NHDeul is drilling the Southwark production wells.
Have a great weekend all!
Good morning,
While SP issues continue, AH buying shares, various opinions are posted, the work offshore goes on.
There were no marine activities around Blythe and Elwood. But the latest RNS did say that production of gas has resumed, at approx. 50%, but that is better than 0%
At the Southwark location an offshore service vessel, Sevan Kestrel , is on location. I assume that this is preparation for the planned pipeline from Southwark to the main export pipeiline.
Have a great day all!
So..... back in production after modification to the Bacton plant.
Not yet at the required volumes, but it is a start!
And offshore it is business as usual: cargo runs to the NHDeul JU rig with the PSV Vos Paradise
And no marine activities at Blythe
The pipelay vessel Seven Borealis, planned to lay the remaining export pipeline from Southwark to the main export pipeline, is still in Rotterdam / Maasvlakte. Mobilizing for the IOG / Southwark job?? I'll keep an eye out what the vessel is doing.
Have a nice day.
