With some production hedged in 2020 and 2021 a rise in poo whilst beneficial is not as critical to Tullows short term survival as some others. Ok Tomoz, firstly the shorters can literally short to zero. So your post was inaccurate. Also your post ignored the reason for the move in the sp. As far as shorters were concerned the RNS was a black swan event. It ended any speculation of the company going bust. Now there is true belief that the company will survive with a credible business strategy in place with the necessary financial support in place.

Tomoz not true. The RNS changed the game. Yes we have high debt but we are secure. The SP thus needed to rise and shorts needed to close .

It is clear reading comments here that few people actually read the RNS and even fewer people understood it. Yes we have positives for oil and speculation regarding the CEO but the bulk of the rise was based on the RNS. The company is now secure and with the hedging in place and cost cutting will 100% ride out Covid19. The RNS is a game changer and merits a re- rate.

I don’t think people get it. The consumer has been told to stay at home globally. Flights grounded, people working from home. Demand has completely collapsed and not just for oil. In the absence of medicine we will be restricted for months in terms of movement. Politics in this environment is a side show. We have never witnessed a world where the consumer is restricted to buying groceries. Who wants to buy a car they can’t drive. Who wants to buy a new outfit for a function that has been cancelled. Wise up everyone. Tullow fortunately has hedged production and will come through this but many companies will fall

Suggest people look at developments on the medical side regarding existing drugs. These would be the potential game changers to end lock downs and for demand to normalise. Politics is a side show when demand itself tanks. Tullow is hedged and can withstand the current oil prices.

Tullow oil is cheap but in terms of the market we have a medical problem creating a financial one. Stimulus will simply cushion the blow. Until we gat a medical solution markets will not have a sustainable rally.

Like many here my UKOG holdings are underwater. I do not wish to take a loss. However, other shares are now similarly bombed out. Tullow Oil down from 250 to 10p. Blue chips like L&G having fallen 50%. Some very interesting alternatives to get my money back on.

I will hold my UKOG but this is an interesting market with shares of solid blue chip companies at 50% discounts thus offering 100% upside as opposed to the usual single digit potential. It is a good opportunity to move money. As an example I have a 40% loss on SXX but can place the money in a blue chip with a greater loss. Every cloud has a silver lining. A question would you prefer Tullow oil at 8p (down from £2.50) to UKOG. Interesting choices.

Have been buying today. Strong cashflow. Debt not too high based on EBITDA. PE ratio is very low. Good dividend. Sell off overdone

Phil, Troll hunter was specifically talking about "big money". The implication was institutional money rather than PI money. Institutions do not invest in companies with a sub £50 m mcap.

Troll hunter you should be completely ashamed of yourself. Pension funds do not invest in companies of this size as the MCAP is too small. Most pension funds are automatically invested by default into index trackers.

Given that money will be ploughed into drilling the probability of any dividend in the next 5 years is remote. Also anyone comparing possible dividends here with an annuity is utterly bonkers. An annuity is risk free whilst in contrast the risk here is extremely high. There are plenty of well diversified income generating investments for retirement planning. For heavens sake do NOT rely on this. This is for a fun money gamble which if successful is a welcome bonus not core investment for retirement

Hi Mirasol, The CPR is a given - apologies for not spelling it out.

Just re-read last weeks RNS with specific reference to the paragraph about production enabling debt based funding. It should have been possible to get debt based funding previously based on cash flow models etc but perhaps at long last the penny has dropped. Dilution must stop for the sp to climb. If the penny has indeed dropped this is the best piece of news that I have read in the last year where this share is concerned. Fingers crossed.

I think that we can all come up with scenarios where SS makes a tosh of it and the SP tanks to 0.2p and by the same token where the rabbit leaps out of the the hat with a a series of stellar RNS’s in which case 2-3p is possible. Speculation is pretty pointless. I hold in the hope of the latter as do the majority weary of both rampers and Shorter’s in equal measure. Steptoes, some of your points are valid it’s the fact that you constantly ram them down people’s throats and bully others that is nauseating. I await an RNS with fingers crossed.

Steptoes you seem easily confused by very basic maths. I have a rule with AIM stocks that I never allow them to be more than 2% of my portfolio. When I made my final purchase UKOG was 2% of my portfolio. As I said subsequently because the sp of UKOG has fallen and the overall portfolio has risen it is now less than 1%. Nothing Walter Mitty about that. In the meantime if you can supply CPR, cash flow forecasts and anything that would remotely justify your endless ramping we would all love to hear. Also why do you feel to post incessantly?
