I would agree with you on the self set deadlines being disappointing. However, projects always have deadlines and targets based, in the planning, on a straight run. There is never enough contingency ( how’s Crossrail doing). Having said all that, MM and team were very upbeat and confident at the AGM. The mention of production figures from September on and the talk of planning in contingencies makes me think that’s where the big news lay. I am looking at the moon landing as a project, set backs etc, but in the end crackerjack!

Troajan, given the heat ( anyone that’s done heavy manual installation in heat will understand), the fact it’s Spain at end of July and the almost certainty that electrical engineers never complete on time, there’s going to be some delays of at least days. If you need a washer and Spain is shut that can become a bigger problem. All of that should not cause concern. If we get news on completion, most excellent.

I love the greensters. At a meeting at work it was declared we are going for EVs for environmental reasons. I pointed out that production of an EV has three times the footprint of keeping an existing fossil fuel car on the road, also the generation of electricity requires fossil fuels, the energy for which goes through many lossses as it transfers from heat-electrical-charging losses- discharge- electrical-kinetic, then bung on transmission loss and top off with the particulate pollution from the tyres (which is increased because of the battery weight ) being more than that of a Diesel engine. Anyway not well received, ignored and now I am in the ‘get rid’ column of books. Hahahah! It seems my head is on upside down. Unfortunately, we live in a world of myth and the emperor (s) have no clothes on.

The grid will not be able to handle the electrical demands as we move away from gas boilers and drive EVs. The current cabling in our streets already needs replacing. There is an increasing and there will be huge demand for them that can dig ditches in roads and reinstate. The equipment cutting/ digging etc, for this uses tungsten. They will need s lot of equipment that will keep wearing out. If we consider 3-6KW boilers all replaced by 2030 and the uptake of EVs ( many houses have more than one car) with a demand of 7KW for one car that’s an increase of 10KW each home minimum. 10KW comes out at approx 40 amps extra each house. The existing cables cannot carry that, let alone the extra generation required. We are hoping to require massive upgrade in generation and distribution. Longer term those having interests in tungsten ( required for much of the work) production will see huge returns. All imho.

It is in Wres’s interest that Europe prospers, they are buying our tungsten that we produce within their empire. Pax Europa is now offering s base rate o -0.4% ( Jaf might want to compare that to our loan rate, but might need some j notation or such) which could mean the beginning of a deflationary stagnation like what the Japsnese did for a couple of decades. That’s not a good thing for Wres. Leaving the empire could this be good, if we do I hope it is. However, I have fears it will be a dogs breakfast of a disaster and I do want to move freely around Europe ( especially Portugal where you can moves yer money about). In the meantime we need to get producing, it’s a low pound against the dollar and we is selling our apt in dollars. Whatever happens let’s hope for prosperity in Europe and that some gets sensible about carbon emissions. We have the solution: use Nuclear power stations, in line with the Rolls Royce proposals. We could export small (ish) power stations with incredibly high standards of safety. These would require tungsten etc in the manufacturing/ tooling processes.

Spot on troajan. At the AGM I took the view from discussions that it’s about getting la Parilla doing its doings. And I should say that in my incarnation as an electrical engineerI, and those I worked with, never got anything wired up and installed within the predicted time- this is an industry standard. So I don’t expect too much until September as MM alluded to when he said production figures would not start until September. If so it would be wise to cascade other good news at the same time to get the momentum ( as you point out). I dare say there will be those that might criticise my target failing, I used to always respond to any personal accusations with robust reply. Every job I can think of got unforeseen issues along the way. Because of my experience, I asked MM about planning on mitigation to foreseen risks causing delay; evidently this has been looked at and built in. So what can be done is done. We ain’t going to be running at T2 levels by the end of July. We got a top line and soon to be banging out, rather good looking forward.

2cv, you’re spot imho. The choir have all bought in. We are too small and insignificant for the ‘market’ to be all genned up about Wres imho. So unless there’s some biggish news we ain’t getting on anyone else’s radar, hence low on volume. Occam’s razor. So simples really.

Nice to hear from you. Silently in the back ground assessing, you make it an art form. Patience, calm and achievement of understanding. Just wish I could do it too. Can’t though. Overall it has been annoying to see the delays, but that really is where the patience pays off, and thankfully I can do a bit of patience. It will be good if we get another visit, but I don’t think MM is worrying about that so much this year. Last time round la Parilla was way off, so maintaining investor confidence was more critical than now. With production under way the imperative is not so high. Would like another trip though, enjoyed the last one s great deal.

Kev, you are proposing the cup shape, which is both vertical and horizontal not an unreasonable proposal. I have expressed this view too. So yep, yer right and I did suggest something of the sort at the time. MM explained what is known and did seem upbeat. However, it’s la Parilla where it will happen. The thing is it is July moving into August not a rushing around time for the locals. So, I think we need our Germans to get their fingers out on getting everything up and running. Which really brings us to the new concentrator fully operational in Sept. mind you we could be ramping up production through this period with the old concentrator running and the new one on fits and starts during commissioning. In the meantime we are due s Brokers Note and I take that from your questions to the guy drafting it. ............ and we may get gold news.......

It’s very hot in the la Parilla area. Over in the UK too. The main news will be about la Parilla and there won’t be any big news whilst commissioning is under way. The Sao martini gold news is not so released because of an impasse with the geologists who cannot agree on whether the ore body is laying vertical or horizontal- so proving up may require some trenches or drilling holes. Personally, if more effort is required then I prefer the focus to be la Parilla and quarterly production figures. However, given what’s happening in the gold world, if someone wants to come to a decision and release rather good gold news, I have no objection.

Could be a brokers note or glod RNS, who knows? Could be production figures, but then again the quarterly ones will be from Sept onwards ( said at the AGM). Could be we get news on commissioning or perhaps more progress at Regua. All of these things will come to pass in the near future. Also we get paid on a dollar price, given the state of the pound that’s good too. Grant money to come as well. Seems to me with the plant in place all we got to is wait. All the issues are designed out. All rather good. In the meantime those that post problems to solutions already in place continues. It’s the doldrums, fair enough, but there’s a breeze starting. So we can expect good stuff, the when if it is tricky, but regardless this is on the cusp of yielding something exceptionally positive. All imho.

Jaf, you most certainly pointed out the 2000% ( using percentages as the multiple gives an inflated perception as one factor) over base rate. If read, your posts implied that the loan was way over the odds - which was patently not the case. It was par for the course, if not actually favourable for a starting up production miner. There is no doubt, by anyone that reads the bb over time, that regardless of how you may phrase it, you were criticising unnecessarily -at best disingenuous.

Not really a worry as tungsten has a very high melting point.
