OOps, sold CCL too soon. Have bought back in

sold CCL at 985

Have been in the garden doing more work on shed, should have sold on the FEVR spike in spite of small loss. Doh
Watching CCL and MCRO closely. CCL run up looking strong but don't think it will pass 990. Mite be selling soon. T line on 2 min chart says hold. US future for CCL down 0.7% but we are ahead of that so think I will sell on a blip.
MCRO on a good run too which looks to be petering out. T line says hold though. Stochastic says overbought.

FEVR divi was 9.88p. I bought at 1832 so yes getting close to profit. Are you holding FEVR?

C: yes, still hold FEVR, just had an alert as it passed 1800, think I need 1835 or thereabouts, can't remember how much the divi was

R: You will find that a lot of the examples use longer time frames as the whole system is more pertinent to trend trading. It does that but parts of it help me day trade. The basic idea is to take emotion out, using it INDICATES a trend, it doesn't predict. It is generally quoted as being about 73% accurate. The reason it is not perfect for day trading is really because a change, be it the top of a spike or the bottom of a shake has to have happened already before the "indication" is available. This means that you don't get so close to perfectly timed prices. This is not so relevant on trend trading as on day trading. There are many (40?) types of indication within the system, you have to be a devotee to learn them all.
Have a look, you can only waste an hour or so at worst.

This morning I have sold some NCYT bought yesterday, then bought CINE, HUR and OCDO

V: MCRO is going on holiday for a few days. Dunno why, perhaps because we are holders.

R: Yes, I use IG as my main trading platform. I use Stochastic indicator for general overbought/oversold indication. I also use Ts spike and shake system with an awareness of "normal" trading range for a particular share. For a while I have also been guided by Lefkosia's brilliant thread on T line. T line is best explained on the youtube tutorials of Mr Bigalow. They use candlesticks (instead of a simple line) and the exponential moving average (ema) 8. Best you watch a tutorial. The use of candlesticks instead of the simple line is paramount. Excuse me if you already are doing so. The candlestick gives an indication of trading sentiment at that time period. I generally use 10min and 2min charts for trading, the shorter gives perhaps a too triggerhappy indication.

Welcom macadam, after you have passed initiation rites (losing a shedload of money, then making a mistake, then making exactly the same mistake twice more), you will be accepted then forever after know by your initial "m". No only joking.
All trading platforms have trouble from time to time. The new, current, IG platform has had some teething problems and freezing of graphs, smallish but annoying things but yesterday was an exception. I urge you to stay with them, I can only imagine the effort they are putting in to sort things out.

I have calmed down somewhat now that I have sent off my complaint to IG. I will await their response.
2 of or accounts are ISAs so can only be in one person's name so only £85K of full protection/account. Not enough and one of the reasons I keep an account also with II. It makes actual trading a nightmare but I am well practised at keeping lots of plates spinning at the same time. Interestingly, we once had to make a few claims on the FCS in those halcyon days when we had high interest accounts with 2 Icelantic banks that "went to the wall". The money was repayed by FCS very easily and very quickly I am pleased to say.
Hope somebody in the brigade managed to sell CLL well above 1000p today!

Well T is probably better able to answer these questions but trading platform claim to keep their clients money and shares in client accounts that are ring fenced so you shouldn't actually lose anything. If something wonky was going on then the worst case is the guarantee from FCS, forgotten how much that is but it wouldn't help me.
Seem to remember a case like this about a year ago, the market maker was into liquidation and the auditors were allowed to loot clients accounts/shares to pay for administration. Basically we PIs are at the bottom of the food chain. Ha.

Well, finally thought to check twitter and they are working on the problem, bet they wont give me 1005 for my CCL or 210 for my IAG though!! Doh

Well this is both strange and very worrying, Both my IG accounts are not working, their telephone dealing line is disconnected and the two help desk telephone numbers I have are disconnected. Oooo errr

Just sold CINE at 60! for a 4.1% profit...nothing in Rs league of profit but I have only had them 3 days.
My luck is holding, seem to have made the right choice with CCL, they are at least going in the right direction, i.e. up

Still no confidence in my decision but bought CCL at 948...I am officially blaming T line and ema8 if it goes wrong...if it goes right, well, it's obviously my brilliant investment skills and I am opening the Rioja to breathe

V: I seem to do more trading when the market looks "flat". I reduce the percentage profit I am prepared to take but take more of them. I am especially keen on this with no stampy shares. So in tardy reply to your recovery shares question I concur with TUI and IAG, yes CINE and also a builder such as BDEV. However, I have to add something like GGP (for the obvious reasons of recent sucessful finds/expansion/JV/takeover target) but also will gain from POG which I guess is in inverse proportion to recovery. i.e. more likely to go up as world economy goes down etc. The joker share I would add has to be one of the pharmas, NCYT or even one of the big ones GKN or AZN. IAG and 220p? Personally don't think it will get there today but I am personally hoping for 209/210 today.

T: I am out of CCL and for once have no idea what to do. It could go either way when US opens. On balance I am expecting down but with almost no confidence.

C: I am surprised there are any oil tankers left for China to use as reserves, that was one of the cited reasons for the crash below 0 of the oil price but it is a clever policy, buy when a commodity is cheap, prepare for the future.
