V: yes, MRW has not be a good bet. I like the company but I suppose the share price must reflect it's true value as it has a very small trading range. I bought it at 189.6, could have got 2 or 3p cheaper if I had waited. Think the divi was 4 or 5p, but, like you, I am only just into profit.
with PLUS, sorry you struggled to make a profit. I have been regularly making on it, maybe 1 or 2 £50 to £100 turns a day. It seems to suddenly get hot and shoot up a bit, I am currently stuck holding some at 1325 I think. After it is "hot" it goes cold of course, so then I try to buy much lower and continue the process till I can liberate the higher tranche. I currently have 2 tranches in it but am confident to get more than 1325 soon.

V: Ha. I would like an electric car but don't have a cable long enough to reach from my house to all the places I want to go. (The old jokes are the best).

I bought some TUI this morning at 505. I thought their fall today (inevitable after yesterday's good rise) was a good chance to buy in. Have been looking longingly at JDW but haven't bought any. So my recovery sub portfolio at the moment is TUI, CCL, IAG and CINE. I am going to try to hold onto all of these for a while but may trade some of the shares in each, if you get what I mean. I still have my nest of phama stocks, mostly AIM but happy to hold. That leaves me regularly trading in OCDO (but not today), MCRO and PLUS (which has started it's regular end of day run up I hope)

I can do car talk till you fall asleep, my preference is for classic cars, I have a 1955 Citroen Traction Normale which I have had for 30 years.

V: Sorry I got that wrong with CCL stocastic. Good gain that on OCDO, well done, that's a windscreen wiper motor I would say.

T: CCL is still a sell on the T line indicator on 10min chart but I am holding.

R: can't get a clear indication on MCRO while it is "moving sideways", seems to like 440 but there is increased activity now. I am holding for now till I see for sure which way it is going.

L: I am very "happy" to hear your story, part of me has wanted to ask you why you were bothering with saps like us when you could be relaxing by a pool somewhere. So, the secret is out...you are human after all.

Your figures are good but requires discipline at a level I haven't got and I could never never invest so much in one share. (T probably could). I have my CLLN experience for that hard earned lesson.
However, Spread the stake around say four shares (for safety) and I am sold, might take longer but safety is important at my age when I am playing with 75% of my "pension". Must say though, that I am feeling more confident lately (rising market effect maybe) and am considering selling my dog shares and using the funds to increase the size of my tranches, probably double. My dog shares include the usual candidates, BT, AVIVA, NATIONAL GRID, CNA.

T: CCL on a "sell me" trend at the moment but I am holding and expect it to really motor. Ha!

On PLUS I am a bit confused, their profits and hence share price are proportional to quantity of trading roughly. I assume they should be rising more and more but they have stalled at the moment. I have 2 tranches both just at a small loss. They have a particular trend pattern which (usually) has a bump up very near market close.

T: Starting to get my 14:30 blues as to how CCL will react to the US open. I was feeling confident earlier which I put down to the rises in travel/leisure sector and CCL, although up, hasn't performed like the airlines (which I see as a less likely fast recoverer). However, I only have a smallish tranche of CCL right now so might add to it if things get upwardly exciting.
MCRO seems to be happy to hover at 440, I am in nice profit but am expecting a little more. Read a downbeat article about them in the times yesterday, made me a bit worried. Will give details later if there is interest.

V: Thanks, multiple browser windows...of course that is a solution. I have never seen the HL platform but I guess it must do everything other platforms do (with possible exception of ii....I bl++dy hate that platform). Amazing really how we all find a particular, comfortable way to trade.

m: I have only been using candlestick displays for 2 or 3 months now and wouldn't be without them. I have traded since the 80s (Ithink Amstrad was my first or was it BT?) and always used the simple line and I have made profits (in excess of my losses usually!!) but candlesticks are a revalation. They are worth persevering with. Several times I have achieved prices that "line users" don't even know happened. The reason is that for the duration of the candle, it represents trader sentiment during that period, very fast spikes and shakes are apparent. The only way you get this information with a simple line is to use a very fast period, say 1 sec.
I am sold but each to their own. I appreciate that in an activer traders early days, there is plenty to learn so if you are making regular profits then you must be doing something right!! Good Luck however people trade.

R: I know I keep banging on about the IG platform and it's wonderful graphs but another "feature" is that you can deal or set alerts at the same time as displaying the graph whereas from what you say HL can't and nor can ii.
