R: I had gradually built up to 13 before christmas, then for some reason I started buying in smaller tranches but more holdings. I vaguely remember buying a couple of things that I wasn't too sure of hence the smaller tranche, now it is more of a habit.

Have bought back into DART (using limit buy in spread) at 901

Yes, I have TUI and CINE and IAH (and GRG and JDW) and and and....LLOY which have had 2 or 3 good days of increases

Ha, I could have sold a few more holdings that were in profit, DART amonst them, but missed todays best price on DART so saving it for another day, plus I always think if you sell something, book the profit, yes, but then that money is no longer working for you. This can encite one to buy the next holding too early of course. One of my 4 profits today was a side trade on NCYT, I don't trade with my core holding there. The same with GGP, I am a long term holder there. (Ha, I don't often say that). My profits today came from one sale in each of CCL, MCRO,PLUS and OCDO.

T: have been looking some more at the technical analysis on Investing.com and on the subject of CCL it is very negative. Sell or strong Sell on moving averages, and technical indicators. On candlestick patterns they indicate on the whole that CCL is about to go down.

m: well done with that profit, thats £2200 a week times 50 is a lot. Carry on like that and I will personally promote you to capital M. Not bragging, but I "only" made £584 today, had a really good day yesterday so am happy. I was a bit off song and I was in and out all day as I am trying to build a studio for my partner. Isn't making money more important? The answer is no.
R: Yes, buying against T line is my particular bete noire. I need to get a bit more rigourous but my excuse is I am not spending all my time in front of screen so tend to just take an early profit instead of finessing it or buying something without waiting for best price.....amateur.

T: I think it was V who called them "learning occurances". I agree with your observations re: CCL dropping out of FTSE. I remember when MKS dropped out, they actually increased in share price for a few days.

V: well put, that's exactly right: find your own pace and style.

Well I made some profit but feel I could have done a lot better, some iffy decisions in there. Still I have a shed load of stock to sell another day! Good luck all.

CCL coming back towards my buy in point 1155p thank goodness.
I am holding TUI, DART and IAG and am expecting either they will shoot up or down depending on the news about the 2week self isolation for air flights.

at 14:29 there was a biggish difference between the two share prices, so I bought CCL at 1155 but don't have a lot of confidence.

Now that the uS ccl future is +2.44% and UK is at about the same, I assume a smooth transition at 14.30. I don't know which way it will go.

Thing to remember with T line is that it is an indication, after the event, that a trend has changed. On the longer periods, say 4 hours now on OCDO it is only now indicating a sell at 2160ish following the 2220p spike! The subsequent shake and spike are lost in the candle. On 10 min period, T line indicates a sell at 2200 then a rebuy at 2162 then a sell at 2175ish and is now saying don't buy. So the shorter time periods are more nervous but can be too eager to get you to sell or buy. I shall try using 30min period for a while to see if that gets a better balance between number of sales and missing spikes/shakes. I currently only display two screens, 10min and 2min periods.

I don't really think it can do what you are looking for T. On IG charts the periods are Month Week Day 4hr 3hr 2hr 1hr 30m 15m 10m 5m 3m 2m 1m 10s 1s tick. With a candlestick display and time period 4 hrs for example, all of the action in that 4hr period is in the body of the candle so a spike or shake could easily be hidden by previous spikes/shakes, in the same share price range at a different time in the four hour period. A spike (or shake) outside the range of what the four hour candle is displaying would momentarily be seen as a "wick" out of the body of the candle. This effect is much more easily seen on the shorter time periods. I currently use 10mins but perhaps 30mins would be better. The shorter the period, the more likely you are to make unnecessary twitchy trades using T line.
