Yes FTSE down a bit but not surprising when some seriously large companies go ex-divi, BP, AZT etc and our own DGE.

Hope everyone had a good day, somehow I think we all did really.
I made only 6 trades today, sold 2 tranches of BOO, a buy and sell and buy back of CINE, then a buy of PLUS, high price maybe but only small tranche. I didn't sell my DGE, stuck with them now into the divi excitement.

V: sorry to (maybe) burst your balloon but my information, from HL and Dividenddata sites deny that FEVR go ex divi tomorrow.......

m: yes you can sell first thing as the become ex divi at the open. You will usually find that the opening price is the previous day's closing price minus the amount of the divi. Obviously this will change (up or down) within moments of the open.
As it happens, I could sell mine now for par (apparently thats 2 shots less than a double bogey!!), I am cogitating the subject as I write.

O: hope you bought Accsys when you recommended them, I note they are up about 12% so far, 6% today. Well done.

This is a hint of how wobbly I'm getting.....I am actually thinking of selling DGE at a very slight loss because they go ex-divi tomorrow and I just have a feeling they will drop by more than the dividend amount and I don't want to be in the doldrums with them until they recover enough for it all to be worthwhile. Doh!

V: congratulations on your CINE profit. Wish I could have held out for a better price.

Just sold the CINE that I bought this morning for +13% profit.

V: The only other gem of possible info I can offer is issues with the solenoid/pre-engaged starter. As the solenoid wears, the copper contacts become pitted and sometimes don't make sufficient contact. Twice now I have dismantled solenoids and reversed the copper bar that makes the contact between the 2 studs, power from battery and power to starter motor. No doubt now, solenoids can't be dismantled. Good luck.

V: Seem to recall that starter motors can fail on one or two windings in such a way that it depends where in the rotation it stops as to whether the commutator is aligned with a good winding to enable it to start next time. Starter motors used to a square shaft sticking out the end that you could put a spanner on to inch it onto a good winding. These days I doubt you can even see the motor and I bet they no longer have that sticky out square shaft! Still I am talking from ancient experience....just after horses were common!

Bought more CINE at 47.8 earlier, I now own all the seats in the stalls and half the circle (do they still call it that?)

Is this the front of the queue for people sick that they're not in ASC, because I want front place.
Sold BOO for a small but welcome consolation profit.

CEY, FRES and GGP having big falls today. I am guessing the price of gold has declined on vaccine optimism news.

T: Yes,don't really disagree with what you have said it's just that I think thngs are looking too good! With CCL, I think they will have lower load factors, company has sold some of it's assets and have increased debt impairment. However I am still a holder. In particular, I think when US opens in a few minutes, price will rise. Futures on the other 2 big cruise companies look strong for today too. Fingers crossed.
