T...It's obvious I suppose but it is all about pent up demand with CCL....it's not as if other shipping companies are getting a bigger slice of the market, it's just everything is on hold. OK, I guess bookings will lose a little to staycationers even when they are allowed to resume cruising but I have a sneaking feeling that CCL will benefit when the brakes come off for a few reasons. Firstly people will have money to spend, I saw some figures for the amunts people were saving just because of the lack of opportunities to spend. Second, cruising demographic is older...these people(heck, us people) will have been vaccinated first and hopefully in addition built up some sort of immunity maybe. Third, cruising is a floating hotel, get the entry protocols right, all vaccinated, all tested maybe, limit port of calls to low infection areas etc. Fourth, another demographic reason, older, retired folk are free to cruise all year round so potentially more business. Compare with TUI for example where the majority of their holidays are governed school holidays. If the actual flight for a TUI holiday is made "covid secure" I think not many of the destinations will be. I am starting to wonder at the relative costs now of mothballing liners compared to aeroplanes.....
