I actually think getting to £8.00 may happen in the future but not really until 29/30.

Maybe the target for meeting up should be increased to 285p. Everyone who posts regularly should be in profit.

I am happy with 250p+. I am being optimistic but 250p looks like it will be breached by end of September ....

It would be great if you could read the singer capital report on Saga on research-tree.

It is based on their expectations before the trading statement and the latest data on AICL sale.

I think with your understanding of accounts you will be able to come up with better estimates ...

check you out. Well obviously you understand the insurance biz a lot more than me.

If what you say is correct then this year (25/26) we should make around £50 to £60M underlying profit, as all businesses are exceeding expectations.

Next year (26/27) if the insurance preformance continues we should bag the £30M bonus which means circa £100M underlying profit.

And then (27/28) we should make around £100M profit again

which means that he hit the £100M underlying profit well ahead of schedule.

so the question is when do we meet up for the infamous York party ....

Be careful reading the £17M across from the now sold underwriting business. Remember £10M came from underwriting earnings and £7M came from savings from restructuring. Saga is left with the front end sales and marketing part of the insurance business.

However it does look like Saga management have been very careful being prudent with estimating across the business.

Even that estimate is old now as the target price did not include the £17M extra from the AICL disposal.

... have read the full report and they are slightly conservaive as even the latest trading update was higher than their assumptions ....

The outperformance is very welcome regarding AICL, just like the better than expected results in April.

Great RNS .... net proceeds from AICL sale was £17M higher than expected.

That is another big chunk off the debt and a 1.8M saving in interest payments per year ....

oh and should translate to an extra 10p on the SP.

Anyway looks like the management are being overly pessimistic on predictions so they can over deliver ....
