It is legally well overdue if they did keep their shares, and if they did then they would be the first broker ever to keep their shares in val.

A earth shattering landmark has just hit the markets in the last hour.

Oil has dropped 200% In the last couple of hours and is now trading at minus $37 a barrel. Yes you read that right.

This will take a few days to weeks to work through the markets but there will be some big ramifications and will effect all economies.

What's the bet that when the results of today's so called 'meeting' are announced, they wont release the voting figures for george as they will say it was irrelevant now that he has 'resigned'

Nomlugu, agreed. There is nothing at the moment stopping george staying on at the moment as an employee and a consultant whilst drawing more wages than ever. ( how on earth he got away previously with charging the company consulting fees while taking hundreds of thousands in salary is beyond me )

It will be a long and risky road if there is ti be any sort of recovery but there is a better chance of recovery if he is not in charge in my opinion.

It’s was just a rumour, if it was genuine then they would have legally had to inform the shareholders years ago.

Valju, if anyone wanted to take over val, they could easily do it and it it would be put to a vote to the shareholders by law, there’s nothing the BOD could do to stop it apart from issuing more shares to hold the winning vote.

It hasn’t happened yet so we must conclude that no one is or ever has been interested.

Valju, the company announced the placing before the last vote on the consolidation and the dis application of pre emptive rights etc. And VAL said that the voting rights wouldn’t apply to that meeting. There was nothing mentioned about the new shares not being able to vote on the next meeting to remove the directors.

The shares will have by then been fully admissable and possibly even sold off ( I doubt it as I hear there has been an agreement not to dump the majority until after the next vote.)

If they are able to sell/trade those shares, then how would the company be able to restrict the voting rights on them after they have been admitted and able to be traded to the second hand shareholders ?

Yet again the company has underhandedly managed to issue more shares just before a vote to remove them.

These new voting shares issued yet again at the lowest ever point in the companies history will be used to vote with the directors votes.

It’s a lost cause yet again unless the vast majority of previously existing shareholders stand up and be counted.

You have to give it to the directors, they may be useless at scIence but they are shrewd business people.

(And by business I mean securing vastly inflated salaries and pensions for delivering SFA )

I honestly can’t believe people are still falling for it after 14 years of the same thing year in and year out.

Well considering the company is worth slightly less than it was on Friday, it’s safe to assume they managed to swindle the consolidation through.
