It does reflect that Avacta has two arms. Diagnostics and Therapeutics. Both need to get over the proof of principle hurdle.

Antibodies have a major role in cancer treatment - they can inhibit signaling pathways responsible for the growth of cancer. By decreasing their size they can target cryptic or buried functional regions in receptors or signaling complexes.

So we need a binding molecule smaller than an Ab that can be modified to optimise half life....

There is a real risk new vaccines and monoclonal antibodies will be constantly required due to the virus mutating. The ability to efficiently generate broadly neutralising therapies combat the vast majority of virus strains by reaching normally occluded but highly conserved regions that are less prone to mutation. The neutralising activity of the best characterised broadly neutralising therapies lies entirely within an ultra-long CDR-H3. Notably, ultra-long CDR-H3 regions can be transferred to human antibody scaffolds (affimers).

I'm not dewamping. Someone said tech transfer never fails. Others said yes it does but there again they don't have 16 O levels and thirty years working in the back rooms sniffing volatile substances.
