You do know what happens when people are over borrowed even at an interest rate as low as .25%?
The interest rates themselves are not the problem, it’s the borrowings people have,they are encouraged to take on vast sums of debt and live well beyond their means trying to live like celebrity’s so they consume and consume with our understanding how it all works and how 0.25% increase adds to their mortgage while they struggle to pay for everything on tick.
Oh and there hadn’t just been 40% of the currency created out of thin air while shutting the economy’s down for months forcing business’s to take on more debt.

You would think that if we are so dependant on Ukraine for everything all of a sudden they would encourage new farmers to come learn the job of these old boys and offer them an incentive to stay on and teach surely? Nope, not in the 4th industrial revolution.

Food shortages? - we will pay farmers to retire

Expensive energy?- we will tax explorers to put decimate investment and keep prices higher.

No workers to fill job vacancies to keep buisness’s running? We tell them they can now get a mortgage on their benefits.

Well I think they want an elevated price for two reasons, it’s saps the money out of the average uk household and gets them used to turning to the government as their saviour, the hand that feeds them.
Then secondly they can fast track the push for electric car rollouts, no one was interested in them before these price hikes so now I expect the government to start taxing company’s into oblivion and then redistributing money to the mass’s for electric vehicle grants.
