I agree with Chris, not too keen on a takeover (unless of course in the NAV not including Intangibles range or more at least)

At these prices would likely be well short of Vistry's long term potential returns IMO

To be honest, I really have no idea how Tim is still in a job after overseeing and being responsible for, like you say, 4 profit warnings

Yeah noticed shorts down almost 2% when the share price closed at just above £2.79, now at £2.64

I'll be buying more tomorrow at these prices and if it drops

That journalist really has what looks to be a personal grudge with Vistry, strange they didn't write about it when the share price was over £7 a few weeks ago and only now when there's a number of new shorts on the stock and peak Fear on the stock

"Inexperienced" is hilarious, considering where the UK economy is currently at and has been heading under Labour and Tory policies

Sorry but whatever happens, we know that the actions and decisions of the current Government and the previous Government have been absolutely rubbish and isn't working for the UK and UK economy

I've seen this multiple times now on other listed companies, when shorts play their games and play on the fear with a company, releasing articles and trying to find old skeletons in the company's closet to bring them up

One example recently(ish) that I hold was Metro Bank, I saw so many negative/fear inducing articles appear out of the blue after it's huge drop to 30p per share, I'm now up over 200% on that share, I'm very glad I ignored the noise and bought lots of it at 33p per share, as Metro looked very cheap

You habe to ask yourself, where were all these bad headlines before the most recent update and Vistry was trading over £6 - £7 a share, even after the Iran war had already started. They're driving it down to get the cheapest prices possible to buy Vistry shares IMO

The update was decent, it looks extremely cheap on a historical basis and compared to the other housebuilders

Massive CEO buy and increased share buyback to almost 4 times the original amount each day, Vistry are doing all the right things at the current time IMO

Shorts will always play their games, but just focus on fundamentals of a company and value

The story and investment case with the last update from Vistry hadn't actually changed anything

I've in my years of inveating lost more money on good value shares before, when worrying about shorts and short levels, which leads me not ot invest in them/or not buy very much of them, so I learnt my lesson to generally ignore it, if a stock looks great value and has future potential, then it does, so invest

Shorts may play their games here, but have no doubt ythat on the long term, this looks like a bargain IMO and I personally would have regretted not loading the boat

I understand that @jaskk, but this company has had over £700 million wiped off its share price in just over a week, after what is going on in Iran had already started

I mean you can see that thr housebuilders Vistry and Barratt Redrow look to be being hammered quite a bit worse than say Persimmon and Berkley if you take a look at their comparative share prices and interestingly the CEO's are both steeping down for Vistry and Barratt Redrow by comparison, which I don't think is a coincidence either

The share price just seems so ridiculous and cheap that it almost seems unrelated, even with any margin and p/e compression factored in

But I suppose that's how the market tends to act

I'm buying more at these levels for the long term anyway, as the thesis for this company and business model hasn't actually changed and the end of the year onwards is looking more positively on the social/affordable housing front, which is a positive the other large Housebuilders don't really have

To be honest the fact that Barclays has downgraded Vistry again within one week is so dodge, I mean, what has changed in the company since almost a week ago since their last downgrade? Haha

@Trenners Ahhh ok an understandable assumption to be honest, but it did sound a bit like you were basing your assertion on stated facts, but that is a reasonable assumption, although I'm not seeing any large reduction changes in shareholdings of US Hedge Funds and Institutions based on stated share ownership

Do you have any evidence of "smart people" or big money dumping Vistry @Trenners? Unless they're dumping stock in smaller quantities, so not to need to incur an RNS?
