Taking last 3 days vol of circa 3.856m shares that leaves 6.14m for them to clear. A week. Probably more as they wont be the only sellers.

Having attempted to get to the bottom of goodwill impairments to understand the last few years massive non cash balance sheet hits with the aid of google, I found a lot of accountants arguing with each other and then I fell asleep. I mean they even cropped up in the half years smashing up the travel numbers...
Is there any way that you, as an accountant , can please explain how long those impairments are going to crop up for?

Writing as someone who set up a business in the concrete pump owning or hiring world I can tell you that's entirely normal behaviour. Its the sheet end of a sheet business, one that I once swore I'd never put a penny of my own money into.... did though...
Wouldn't have thought that was Costain though. The biggest problem that COVID has caused though is uncertainty and thus work going backwards rather than the cost of it heading north. Who'd have thought we should have been Swedish.
Loads of HS2 on an NEC contract with loads of uncertainty should be fine for Costain, but it will take time.

Oh and to be clear, the LSE chart on here is now the only one which shows the ACTUAL prices pre-consolidation/rights issue, as those who were in in March April will know. SO use these figures for your pre-covid market cap calcs!

I had this battle with the rampers on this board some months back after the consolidation...
The values that the back-plotted graphs show are not representative of the market cap at that moment in time. You need to look at the historical market cap to see where a post covid price might be (see previous posts). Its not right and its misleading but there you go HL etc dont care. Anyone expecting a recovery to 5-600 will be disappointed.
Spoiler alert. I think business as usual if t ever returns will be circa 300.

Sorry but I don't understand why you think after consolidation there will be a very limited free float? Surely the free float %age will be the same as it is today, albeit a smaller number of shares at a higher price? Am i missing something?

I also tapped a friend who worked directly for De Hann for a couple of years.
He says it was a stretch in a way because he is all over every detail, he knows what to ask and goes into all the detail. ie a very driven serious player.
Biggest risk for me is that he stays healthy until the job is done.
I also poked someone else who knows Euan. I got a more positive response than some others but that's fair enough. Everyone has their own opinion and mine is second hand, but i trust my source.
At the risk of sounding like the P and D boys, I added on Friday pm, and may add a few more if I get the chance.
In the absence of large shorts I can only see the bashers trying to set up longs....
